Maxar is seeking a Director, Market Strategist, and Bussiness to join our team in Palo Alto CA, or Herndon VA. At Maxar, our next generation spacecraft range from Earth observation to interplanetary missions, including the Lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE). We are seeking a Market Strategist to join our growing Space Infrastructure Business Development and Proposal team. This position will provide you a unique opportunity to drive the development of a long-term strategy for our thriving U.S. government-related business segment.
Play a leading role in the ongoing Civil Space market strategy and multi-year planning activities.
Develop and communicate a clear vision and definition of success - with supporting strategic roadmap across all company competencies
Drive the development of long-term growth plans and profitability objectives, as defined by the company.
Conduct market sizing, monitoring, and competitiveness analyses to assess business portfolio trends and develop enterprise and market-level strategic studies to support new market entry, expansion, and business model design. Identify gaps in market data and define/coordinate research activities.
Leverage subject matter expertise in developing a corporate strategy with capability knowledge emphasizing client delivery. Play a leading role in helping the company grow its business and develop relationships with clients
Collaborate with the Business Development, Engineering, and other internal and external resources to monitor technology and service developments in targeted industries and verticals to identify new technology/platform/product concepts and assess the impact and identify recommended adjustments to existing programs and roadmaps. Evaluate new concepts against the current portfolio of available technical options, identify and seek solutions for product or service capability gaps and development requirements.
Engage closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage complex links and dependencies across the company, to maximize alignment and focus across activities and business areas.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
BS degree in an engineering discipline or a related field
Minimum 15 years of experience
Willing and able to attain a Top Secret, SCI security clearance
Superior written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
Excellent research, problem-solving and analytical skills
Business/strategic acumen and problem-solving skills to define the market problem and hypothesize the proposed solution, run quantitative and qualitative analysis, and working cross-functionally
Independent, quick learner and self-starter, with a willingness to dive in and drive results
Willingness to travel up to 30% to meet business needs
