Position Summary:

The Director of OEM Quality Assurance is responsible for directing the warranty return process and driving the reduction of warranty by collecting and processing warrant data and using that knowledge in interfacing with our suppliers and customers. As part of the warranty reduction, they manage the development, distribution and use of SiriusXM Module Assessment Kit (SMAK) testers to reduce "no trouble found" (NTF) modules.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directing the failure analysis process, including the diagnostic processes used at SXM and those used at the Module Manufacturers.

  • Participating in the diagnosis of new module failure modes to understand them and create supporting diagnostic processes.

  • Developing and supporting the distribution of SMAK (SiriusXM Module Analysis Kits) to all of our Partners, organizing the repair of the kits when they are returned for faults, and collating and presenting data on the tools' effectiveness.

  • Finding shortcomings in the tool and programming to improve SMAK's functionality.

  • Managing the development of new failure prevention capabilities including SCORCH, a module electrical overstress analysis tool.

  • Managing the Application Information Management system that releases which preloaded subscriptions go into which receivers at the contract manufacturers.

  • Preparing regular reports for all activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related professions or equivalent experience.

  • 7 years- experience in manufacturing quality assurance systems design and implementation

  • 5 years of experience with LabView programming

  • Experience with Automotive Quality Systems and Specifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working with automotive quality programs

Requirements and General

  • Experience in Radio Head Units, GPS, Telematics, Navigation System, Mobile Telephony, and/or Satellite Receivers.

  • Must have keen diagnostic and analytic capability.

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels, in multiple locations and across cultures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to coordinate across organizational structures such as OEM Applications Engineering, Q/A, and Test Validation Sites both internally and externally.

  • Willingness to take evening meetings when required to improve communication with our contract manufacturers in Asia.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.

  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.

  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated sound grasp of object oriented and state machine based programming

  • Ability to program the MS-Office Suite (particularly Excel and Access) in Visual Basic
