Summary of Job:

The Plant Controller will be a key contributor to the plant leadership team and contribute to all areas of plant management from a Finance perspective. The Plant Controller will build and lead a team. The Plant Controller will be responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices along with providing financial direction and recommendations to improve site performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains control over accounting policies and procedures for the site including oversight of financial reports, delivery of financial analysis, benchmarks.

  • Prepare all budget and forecasts of income statement, balance sheets and statements of cash flows for the Manufacturing Plant.

  • Manage and develop all standard costing processes. Develop budget and allocate costs to ensure products are accurately costed including all depreciation, labor, overhead, and idle capacity. Costs to be applied to existing and future company products, both clinical stage and commercial.

  • Support Design and Development of ERP system ensuring all needs are met to support Inventory Costing and COGS processes.

  • Ability to build financial systems in partnership with ICT and strong acumen on the build of the system overall.

  • Analyze plant labor, scrap, operational spending, and inventory transactions for optimal manufacturing levels.

  • Support monthly closing process. Prepare journal entries where necessary and allocation of all Purchase Price and Manufacturing variances. Analyze inventory valuation ensuring compliance with IFRS/US GAAP

  • Manage Plant capital asset request process including submission of request, expenditure tracking, asset tagging, and completing asset creation request. Maintain fixed asset register for manufacturing facility.

  • Own inventory control management including coordination of physical and cycle counts, resolution of problem areas and maintenance of procedures

  • Create variance analysis including identification of business and cost trends, and recommendations for cost control, operational changes, etc

  • Strong people leadership skills and the ability to build a team and motivate, engage, coach and develop employees.

  • Develop Manufacturing site Policies, Procedures, and Internal Controls. Monitor and implement plant internal controls as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets and identify risk.

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

  • Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, country, or corporate objectives.

  • Shares best practices across global finance team, e.g., process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes.

  • Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.

Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or Business Administration required. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred. Strong knowledge of US GAAP.

Experience

Ten years or more of related experience. Five or more years' experience in management.

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Non-Technical Skills

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong work ethic is required. Detail oriented and excellent follow through. Has the ability to flex and deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment. Has a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization.

Physical Demands: Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work

Working Conditions: Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
