The Director, Mail Order/OTC Pharmacy Distribution resolves problems related to drug interactions, dependencies, and department processes. Analyzes distribution and supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Assists Pharmacists in medication preparation and dispensing directly or through program/process development. May contact physicians for prescriptions clarification and may enter prescription orders into pharmacy system. Complies with all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), federal, state, and company regulations, policies, and procedures. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy.
The Director of Dispensing Operations will have overall leadership for Humana Pharmacy Ohio Dispensing Operations. Responsibilities include managing teams that perform dispensing and site inventory for prescription and OTC medications and products. This role will be responsible for coordinating/aligning with the other pharmacy sites in AZ, OH, and TX. The Director of Dispensing will also form a key partnership with the Humana Pharmacy Engineering team on future pharmacy build outs and automation projects. Acting as part of the Humana Pharmacy Senior Team, responsibilities include:

Previous experience in management of multiple departments and a large number of associates
Previous experience in managing automated systems, production environments and/or pharmacies
Strong Leadership and associate engagement skills
Demonstrated successful experience in delivering results in a matrix environment.
Experience at consistently delivering superior quality, service, and cost effectiveness with a highly engaged workforce
Previous continuous improvement training and demonstrated experience leading process improvement and large scale system change projects
Ability to travel 25% of the time
