What will you do in this role:

  • Create an innovative and exciting monthly activities calendar developed in close concert with the residents' special interests.

  • Lead and participate in resident activities and events

  • Manage Life Enrichment team members through on-going performance management and timely coaching

  • Manage Life Enrichment team's participation in applicable and mandatory training in Relias

  • Participate in resident care plans and care conferences as appropriate

  • Maintain and document Life Loop, while promoting its usage to residents and their families

  • Monitor the department's budget including Yardi

  • Develop a volunteer program

SHIFT: Tues-Sat 9a-5p

You have:

  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members.

  • Experience with event planning and coordination

  • Supervisory experience of at least 2 subordinates

  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and management to continuously improve program quality

  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written form

  • Ability to maintain a customer focus at all times delivering a high level of customer service

  • Ability to work on occasional weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed

  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle (town car and 14 passenger van)

  • Must be 18 years or older and possess current driver's license and have the ability to meet Balfour's driver requirements

You might also have:

  • Bachelor Degree in social work, event planning or gerontology preferred, a combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Understanding of applicable state regulations for events, programs and life enrichment for assisted living communities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to with reasonable accommodations, bend, push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted

  • Ability to with reasonable accommodations sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time

  • Must be able to work weekends/holidays as needed

  • Balfour communities are pet friendly. You may be exposed to animal hair and dander.
