Responsibilities

Director designation may oversee multiple facilities and/or other clinical departments. Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for the overall management of assigned department including, administrative, financial, compliance, quality improvement, technical, and personnel activities in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards.

Takes on special projects or other assignments and completes them within timeframe. . Meet and consult with Corporate Director of Laboratory Services for policies, procedures, forms, instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and LIS. Promotes standardization throughout the system. Ensure laboratory compliance with the performance standards set forth by corporate management for laboratory scorecards and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution required, Master's degree preferred. ASCP certification, or equivalent, required.

Meeting qualification as Technical Supervisor pursuant to CLIA regulations Subpart M -- Personnel for Non-waived Testing, sections 493.1423, and 493.1489, and must possess a degree of skill commensurate with individuals education, training or experience and technical abilities. Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory supervisory experience required.

Location/Division Specific Information The District Sales Manager is part of the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) which unites deep scientific expertise, a collaborative culture and rich resources to deliver the lab equipment and consumables that our customers need to achieve their scientific goals – quickly, reliably and safely. As the District Sales Manager you will manage the Southwest District (San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, Arizona, and New Mexico)– which will require 40% travel. How will you make an impact? The District Sales Manager, LPD is responsible for leading all sales representatives to achieve LPD revenue growth and profitability objectives. The District Manager is also responsible for creating and implementing strategies and tactical plans in line with the divisional and territory goals. The District Sales Manager works closely with the LPD Sr Director of Sales, assigned sales reps, other district managers, all LPD Business Unit management teams and Operations to drive customer satisfaction and optimize revenue growth. The District Manager is accountable for the monitoring, analysis and reporting of LPD performance for his/her district as a whole on a regular basis. What will you do? * Manage all Lab Plastics Essential and Lab Equipment Technologies Representatives to deliver LPD revenue, profitability, and market share growth objectives. * Develop the LPD commercial sales plan, including assisting, developing and implementing tactics to accomplish growth targets. * Work closely with Business Unit product management teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of marketing and new product plans. Represents customer needs to product management in the development of new products and solutions. * Regularly meet with your ULS service organization field managers and field service engineers to ensure alignment for customer experience and develop regular cadence for new product awareness * Manage sales forecast for the District using Salesforce.com (SFDC) CRM platform coupled with a bi-weekly pipeline review process. * Accountable for teams use of SFDC CRM as "THE TOOL" for managing and reporting on territories within the District. * Approve proposals to manage price and profitability. * Define and assist in the development of, core competency requirements of the sales team. Works with human resources to develop competencies to facilitate personal and business growth. * Work with Regional Marketing to implement promotional tactics. Establish and provide management reporting on metrics used to assess performance of each promotional program. * Coordinate with Customer Service and Supply Chain operations to ensure that customer support competencies, processes and results are aligned to meet customer needs. * Manage demo inventory assigned to the region. * Work with teams to define trades show strategies including local and One Thermo Fisher activities. * Work with distribution partners to drive region LPD revenue goals. * Employ and embrace PPI as a means to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the LPD selling organization. * Participate in the selection, hire, coaching and mentoring of direct reports. Assume accountability for self and direct reports in demonstrating and improving the culture of Thermo Fisher Scientific by following the 4 I values of; Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement. * Actively participate in and successfully complete required training in Role Model Leader and other required TMO training initiatives. * Support the development of all direct reports using the PMD process and hold direct reports accountable for attaining their business goals. How will you get here? Bachelor degree required in Life Science and/or other related field. Experience Requires 5-7 years' experience in sales and 2+ years in sales management (direct or dotted line) is strongly preferred, with at least 5 years selling and account relationship management experience with a major company in the life science industry preferable.
