Position Summary:

As a key member of Fiserv's Card Services Technology Team, you will partner with business and technology teams across Fiserv to be responsible for the vendor relationships within Card Services to extract maximum value from a contractual agreement impacting both governance and relationship building, all the while leading the associated risks.

Job Responsibilities:

Vendor Selection

  • Develops a standard process by which vendors are evaluated and selected in accordance with company guidelines and standard methodologies.

  • Leads the evaluation and selection of vendor partners for applicable products and services.

  • Ensures that each vendor meets Fiserv criteria, according to established guidelines (documentation, quality, business practices, ethics, financial health, etc.).

  • Contract Creation & Execution

  • Works reciprocally with a cross-functional team to craft master service agreements and statements of work.

  • Partners with the Finance group in reviewing purchase orders and payments.

  • Assists in establishing service level agreements and metrics scorecards, including quality measurements.

Vendor Management

  • Leads vendor onboarding activities

  • Ensures vendor partnership health, compliance and structures exist through implementation of standard frameworks of governance, metrics, critical issues and functional oversight.

  • Ensures all vendor relationships are current and documented in our vendorNET application.

  • Provides escalation point to resolve contractual issues.

  • Participates in the review of open issues to identify trends and make recommendations for future improvements of vendor releases.

  • Ensures contracts are fully used.

  • Finds opportunities to collaborate across the organization's vendor relationships.

  • Creates successful relationships with vendor contacts at all levels of the organization.

  • Maintains vendor calendar of renewals, upgrades, etc.

  • Evaluate renewals and recommend partnership improvements

  • Attends vendor sponsored conferences and industry events to understand vendor strategy and market trends.

  • Maintain awareness of vendor status, trends, and high-level risks through regular communication with vendor counterpart.

  • Elicits vendor feedback on Fiserv improvement opportunities.

Strategic & Financial Planning

  • Participates in Fiserv's strategic planning to ensure vendor management program is in alignment with business strategy.

  • Contributes to Fiserv's long range planning and annual operating plan strategic discussions.

  • Finds opportunities to demonstrate Fiserv ELA's

  • Provides input as needed for budgeting and assists in crafting budget justification materials.

  • Compiles and analyzes trends that affect budgetary needs.

  • Communicates monthly, quarterly, and annual vendor spend to the organization.

  • Demonstrates understanding of vendor management concepts and implementation techniques, including contract negotiation and vendor performance monitoring.

  • Strong experience completing vendor evaluations and preparing RFPs.

  • Ability to prepare and effectively lead negotiation sessions.

  • Understanding of the lifecycle of enterprise applications and software development methodologies.

  • Broad knowledge of the organization, industry and relevant external forces, with a significant understanding of how the role of Card Services participates within the financial services industry.

  • Knowledge of financial services technology and the industry.

  • Extraordinary leadership skills and ability to motivate employees to perform at peak standards.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills, meeting facilitation, and effectively leading discussions

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.

  • Current knowledge of industry technical standards and alternatives.

  • Demonstrates ability to define and execute processes.

  • Knowledge of industry standard methodologies related to vendor selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in vendor pricing methods e.g., rate cards and pricing methodologies.

Direct Reports: one currently (Vendor Management associate who focuses on contract administration)

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree a plus

Job Related Experience:

  • 7+ years of vendor management/service provider/account management experience.

  • Shown success in creating and maintaining a vendor management program within an organization.

  • 3+ years of management experience

What does an exceptional VP, Client Operations Support do? Responsible for Card Services cardholder call center cardholder experience and operations * B2C Call center operations, including execution and program oversight for a B2C experiential transformation. * Strategic initiative consolidates existing providers to a best-in-class consumer experience and supporting BPO technologies. * Responsible for both strategy and execution, this leadership role requires very strong vendor engagement skills, experience in value creation and successful B2B service launches, as well as dedicated, visible communications both to internal and external partners. * Staffing includes a divisional program and operations team, with indirect responsibility over ~800+ B2C agents * Oversight of a $40+M expense annual budget, driving $70+M in annual revenue * Experienced in call center technologies, efficiency strategies and innovation opportunities * Deeply experienced in vendor management and transformation initiatives * Background in card-based operations, specifically fraud call center and dispute processing ecosystems.
