Overview

The Director IT, Provider Support is a full time position with Atlantic Health System (AHS) that manages the IT provider support team, structures provider education, ensures effective provider support, and supports the advancement of provider adoption and utilization of key systems and services. This position also supports strategy, management of resources, planning, budget development and management and maintaining awareness of the industry trends.

This position has a dual reporting alignment to both the CIO and CMIO. As such they are empowered with making key decisions to ensure the sustainability of operations within the department and enterprise. Establishing relationships with key stakeholders in the organization and understanding system operations is imperative to success. In addition to developing relationships with key stakeholders, success in this role will be dependent on identification, management and aligning with vendors that are key to development and technical support.

The work is accomplished in a team environment and requires excellent management and communication skills with a high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy

As a leader of an important team, mindful thought and execution of supporting providers with the use of technology is essential. This entails consistent assessment and reassessment of technology adoption and careful development of plans to continue to drive adoption and optimal support. This position requires work at both the strategic and operational level. Much focus will be directed toward innovative solutions that create unique solutions as well as sustainable operations. Strategic solutions will be identified to assist with development of Atlantic Health priorities and business goals.

  • Team

Manages a team of information technology specialists called Provider Support Analysts who operate the company's IT resources and the provider community. Ensure that the team has the skills to manage effectively and provide the right level of support to users. If necessary, arrange training and certification programs to improve staff skills.

  • Budget

Meet a company's information technology needs within budget limits, often under pressure to reduce costs while maintaining a high standard of service to users.

  • Trends

Maintain vision to recognize and respond to changing requirements for IT resources. To meet the need for increased collaboration.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Mathematics, Healthcare Informatics, Nursing or Computer Science or equivalent area of education

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years work experience within information technology or applicable area of healthcare

  • Experience with managing teams

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of provider and clinical practices and operations

  • Demonstrated ability to gather information from multiple sources and analyze applicability and appropriateness, and develop an efficient workflow

  • Experience with organizational strategies, business operations, and end-user requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships
