Reporting to the Vice President of IT and serving as a member of the IT Leadership team, the Director
This role is based in our Lexington office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office, and 1 day remote.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Lead a hybrid team of employees and external vendors in managing and administering the IT infrastructure, collaboration, communications, and security toolsets
Manage day to day operations of the IT infrastructure company-wide, including but not limited to planning and management of computer operations; systems and database administration; user administration and support; change/release management in scope; DR/business continuity; network operations; telecom and cloud services
Manage and drive improvement of the full suite of data and device security, and endpoint control solutions
Manage O365, e-mail and other collaboration tools, ensure secure and resilient protection of company data
Maintain GxP systems in a validated/qualified state; execute qualification and Computer Systems Validation activities and documentation as needed
Maintain IT Operations and Security SOPs consistent with our Quality Management program, including controls, monitoring, and recovery procedures
Play a leadership role in the company's cyber security program, assessing risk, defining mitigation plans, and leading day-to-day Cyber Security monitoring and incident response activities
Maintain a technology roadmap, identifying opportunities to introduce new technology or maximize the use of existing technologies where appropriate and aligned to business needs
Develop the skills and competencies and manage performance of the IT Operations team
Actively communicate and problem solve within IT and across the organization
Qualifications:
15+ years' experience as an information technology leader with a hands on technical foundation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field (MBA or advanced relevant technical degree strongly desired), required
A minimum of 7 years managing a team of direct reports is required
International experience is highly desired
Understanding of the business processes and GxP compliance requirements (Predicate Rule, Part 11, Computer Systems Validation, Data Integrity) in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment is highly desired. Working knowledge of applicable US and European data privacy laws
Experience with most or all of the following:
AWS or MS Azure cloud services
Microsoft O365
Okta or other cloud based IDP
Next Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortigate, Cisco Firepower, or similar)
Network architecture concepts, including VLANs, 802.1x, S2S VPNs, etc.
VMWare
Enterprise storage and backup solutions
Microsoft Desktop O/S and enterprise administration tools (eg: Intune/Autopilot)
Endpoint Protection tool suites
Email Filtering and security platforms
Active Directory and Azure Authentication
Vulnerability scanning tools
SIEM log aggregation/management/monitoring tools/solutions
Experience leading a cyber-security program. Prior experience remediating a major event a plus
Experience defining and executing projects with business stakeholders
Proven record of success in leading infrastructure operations that are scalable, cost-effective, and blended with outsourced resources
Proven record of acting as a thought leader and subject matter expert on infrastructure and security, collaborating with applications technical owners and cross functional business groups
Results oriented and the ability work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced small company environment, remaining flexible while being cost conscious
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships in a diverse organization
Proven ability to build and lead a lean, high-performance team
Demonstrate highest ethical standards
Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
Salary is commensurate with experience
