The primary focus of this role will be in support of our institutional solutions business for the Fidelity Asset Management Solutions (FAMS) business unit.

Within FAMS, the Global Institutional Solutions (GIS) team designs and manages custom multi-asset class mandates on behalf of institutional clients that choose to outsource investment discretion to an external asset manager. This OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) model has grown increasingly more prevalent in the institutional world, predominantly on behalf of corporate defined benefit plans and nonprofit organizations such as endowments and foundations. Fidelity's GIS team is responsible for the strategic design, active capital allocation, and underlying manager selection decisions for the portfolio, based on each clients' unique investment objectives and constraints.

The Director will work with the investment team to ensure the team has all the necessary building blocks and tools it needs to create or enhance both standard and customizable solutions for institutional clients. The Director will also work with institutional channel partners to help position our multi-asset solutions in the most effective way possible. Lastly, the Director will be expected to analyze and understand industry trends and incorporate channel feedback, ensuring our offering continues to meet evolving customer needs through innovation, investment vehicle availability, and competitive pricing.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Suggesting opportunities to reposition or enhance existing products and solutions to improve longer-term performance and marketability.

  • Creating and enhancing investment content for product positioning in collaboration with investment teams and marketing.

  • Supporting the distribution team through all phases of the sales process, including content production and review of Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

  • Understanding the competitive marketplace to capitalize on emerging market trends and themes in collaboration with the GIS and broader FAMS investment teams.

  • Demonstrating leadership to propose and drive various cross-functional team projects.

  • Practicing excellent time management and organizational skills.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience working in the financial services industry. Current team members have a range of investment-focused product, consulting, fund research, or client-facing backgrounds.

  • Deep knowledge of investments across asset classes and investment styles, including quantitative and discretionary approaches.

  • Proven experience with the development and product management for mutual funds, ETFs, index products, separately managed accounts, and private fund vehicles.

  • Understanding of institutional distribution channels and their specific institutional client needs.

  • Strong educational credentials: CFA, MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred.

  • Series 7 & 63 licenses (can be obtained while in role).

  • Innovative and strategic problem solver with a passion for investment products and a deep understanding of the evolving competitive environment.

  • Highly effective communicator with excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Exhibits a strong track record of collaborating with others and working effectively in a team environment to meet customer needs and deliver business results.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments while producing high quality work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
