Job Summary

The Director, Integrated Pharmacy Solutions will spearhead pharmacy strategy for our portfolio of medicines in prefilled syringes. This dynamic role combines business acumen, technological innovation, and clinical expertise to provide hospital pharmacies with solutions that reduce hospital waste, improve labor efficiencies, and enhance patient safety. The Director of Integrated Pharmacy Solutions will have a deep understanding of hospital pharmacy workflows and operations, enabling them to engage in meaningful discussions with pharmacy colleagues at various levels to drive impactful solutions for customers. This position will utilize extensive experience in overseeing diversion programs and making product selection choices based on multiple factors.

This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Strategy Development: Collaborate with Professional Strategies and Medication Technology & Analytics teams to execute comprehensive clinical outreach strategy. Work with internal and external partners to create research proposals that fill data gaps. Communicate medication safety benefits of ready-to-administer products.

  • Customer Engagement: Engage with pharmacy leaders to review products and operations, identifying unique opportunities for ready-to-administer products to enhance medication safety and operational efficiency.

  • KOL Engagement: Collaborate with key industry experts and influencers to promote evidence-based best practices through various in-person and digital content channels.

  • Product Optimization & Opioid Stewardship: Drive initiatives focused on product optimization and waste reduction for controlled substance portfolio. Engage with customers to demonstrate waste reduction opportunities using hospital data. Support customer implementation of key solutions.

  • Partnership Oversight: Initiate and lead corporate partnerships that leverage technological innovation to drive efficiencies for Fresenius Kabi and our customers.

  • Conference Representation: Represent Fresenius Kabi at pharmacy and healthcare conferences, presenting on controlled substance waste reduction, ready-to-administer product medication safety, and product optimization to elevate brand presence and market reach.

  • Pharmacy Analytics Tool Development: Direct development of resources and services that improve pharmacy customer operational and labor efficiencies.

  • Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing to segment and target key hospital influencers. Develop compelling messages and narratives that clearly communicate key value propositions to target audiences. Advise on pipeline development and acquisition targets.

  • Sales Training and Support: Educate and train sales team on product messaging. Support sales efforts to articulate and quantify opportunities to impact customer strategic imperatives.

  • Complete all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.

  • Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years' health care work experience and at least three (3) years' experience managing a pharmacy, including budget oversight.

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Administration or Specialty Pharmacy Residency or minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a complex clinical pharmacy environment.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmacy market and controlled substance regulations.

  • Proven track record in planning and executing operational and technological initiatives.

  • Passion for challenging status quo and overcoming obstacles to drive change.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong partnerships.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other database/ERP concepts (i.e., Salesforce.com).

  • Travel is required to attend meetings/trainings/programs/customer visits (approximately and up to 20%) and is based on business need (via public transportation: air/auto); may require overnight travel. Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must maintain all requirements for access to customer sites, including active and current compliance with all credentialing requirements (may include COVID-19 and annual influenza vaccinations), in order to perform the essential functions of the role at customer locations.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.

  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information.

  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs.
