This role reports directly to the VP of Sales and plays a key role in Sage North America's revenue generation.
The Director, Inside Sales manages a team of 3 inside sales managers and 33 sales representatives. Also responsible for generating revenue for Sage 50 customers through subscription renewals and cross sell and upsell opportunities.* Works to coordinate internal resources as necessary to help close opportunities, maximize results and ensure satisfaction with current and prospective customers.
Increases the software maintenance renewal rate through effective inside sales techniques using internal and/or external teams
Manages a team responsible for the following: Generating revenue with small to middle market tier customers who have been off plan through direct sales, working with assigned business partners, or certified consultants. Works to coordinate internal resources as necessary to help close opportunities, maximize results and ensure satisfaction with current and prospective customers.
Develops the sales team overall strategy.
Works with internal and/or external team to execute on tactical plans; helping to achieve strategic team goals and revenue targets.
Works to remove any operational/organizational barriers that may impede success of the team. Works with other departments, coordinating efforts to increase revenue growth and partner/customer loyalty.
Coaches and mentors direct reports.
Improves our understanding of why customers renew or don't renew software maintenance to drive improvements in tactics and strategy working closely with the product marketing and customer experience team.
Maintains a detailed understanding of product updates and working with product marketing and marketing to articulate those improvements that related to customers typical maintenance renewal drivers.
Tracks sales activities, customer data and customers' status within internal systems
Works with the operations team to provide formal quote(s) for software maintenance renewals, cross-sell opportunities and/or upgrades.
Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
Evolves the sales strategy for all maintenance and support revenue based on Sage overall strategic objectives, business model changes, pricing strategy; and product and services offering changes. Assesses current go to market strategy and works with management team to make recommendations on short term and long term changes.
Sales Role Level Description:
12+ years of B2B inside sales experience.
5+ years of B2B inside sales management experience.
Ability to thinking strategically while managing to daily operational efficiencies
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, disciplined, and driven to succeed
Collaborative person able to work across various North America business units
Proven track record of impacting the performance of others through mentoring and leadership.
Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
Must be strong in sales training, coaching and personnel development.
Experience in a channel selling environment and in software sales is a plus
