Overview:

This position will be hybrid out of our Springfield, IL or Addison, TX office. It is not a remote position.

The Information Technology Director - Enterprise Architecture will ensure the alignment of the IT strategy to the organization’s mission and strategy using a variety of architectural models.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall IT Architecture development and material system design.

• Provides direction to Architects in their assignments to product areas, projects, programs, and technologies.

• Collaborates with business leaders on planning and IT portfolio development.

• Staffs and manages architecture positions through talent management and hiring.

• Promotes maturation of the architecture discipline at Horace Mann.

• Serves as the escalation point on technical issues that impact the enterprise.

• Collaborates with executive level business and IT Solution Delivery Partners on enterprise prioritization and major resource shifts.

• Provides visibility on enterprise material risks including security gaps, operational issues, technical debt, and efficiency improvement opportunities.

• Develops and implements Architecture IT policies, standards, and procedures that improve efficiency and reduce risk.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in computer science, MIS or a similar computer-oriented major required.
• 5-10 years' related experience in IT and/or insurance business.
• 4-7 years of IT leadership experience.
