Position Overview:

The Child Care Center Director at our local university holds a pivotal role in providing exemplary care for the children of students, faculty/staff and the community. This unique opportunity offers a dynamic environment where creativity, collaboration, and community engagement are celebrated. The Child Care Center Director will play a key role in advancing the university's mission by providing high-quality child care services that support the success of students, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities in Strategic Leadership and Vision:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the child care center that aligns with the university's goals and values.

  • Lead efforts to enhance the center's reputation as a premier destination for child care, education, and enrichment.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement among staff and stakeholders.

Operational Management: Lead a Team!

  • Be the leader of the team that oversees aspects of daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and training.

  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and university policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with university departments and stakeholders to integrate the child care center into campus life and resources.

Program Development and Curriculum Innovation: Being part of the Vision!

  • Enhance the use of developmentally appropriate curriculum and enrichment programs that reflect best practices in early childhood education.

  • Promote a diverse and inclusive learning environment that celebrates the unique backgrounds and experiences of children and families.

  • Encourage and support staff in incorporating innovative teaching methods, technology, and interdisciplinary approaches into the curriculum.

Community Engagement and Partnerships: Grow your Network!

  • Cultivate positive relationships with university students, faculty, staff, and administrators to promote awareness and utilization of the child care center.

  • Collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and community partners to expand access to high-quality child care services for families in the surrounding area.

  • Hire, train, and mentor a team of educators and support staff committed to excellence in early childhood education.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Kind, respectful, and dependable personality that will be a support to staff, an advocate for children and a resource for families.

  • Education and experience in the early childhood education field.

  • Leadership experience in a child care center or early childhood education setting.

  • Understanding of child development principles, educational theory, and best practices in early childhood education.

  • Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
