Definition of Class

This position directs and manages the operations of the Center for Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement. The incumbent directs, develops, and cultivates programs and services that promote access, engagement, and student retention. The incumbent establishes vision and strategic planning and engages in data-based decision-making to advance the Center' of Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement's mission.

Examples of Work Performed

• Supports initiatives from institutional strategic plans that advance access, opportunity, and engagement.

• Develops programs contributing to institutional recruitment and retention efforts.

• Establishes and maintains relationships with faculty, alumni, community, and stakeholders to engage departments and support student services and programs.

• Provides advisory support to student organizations.

• Provides strategic oversight and support for the planning of Center for Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement programming and events.

• Prepares and manages departmental budget.

• Supervises and provides guidance to staff, graduate assistants, and student assistants.

• Creates engagement and leadership initiatives that contribute to student success, persistence, and graduation.

• Analyzes data and prepares annual assessment reports.

• Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring Department.

• Establishes vision, strategic direction, and accountability for programs and practices.

• Creates initiatives to support student recruitment, retention, and engagement.

• Provides guidance and supervision to staff and students.

• Department budget management and oversight.

• Directs departmental assessment and evaluation of programs and services.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:

Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.

AND

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience related to the above described duties.

Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
