SUMMARY:

The Director of Imaging Operations reports to the Vice President Medical Imaging and is responsible for the overall operations of the Imaging departments at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Childrens Hospital. The Director of Imaging Operations is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational and financial activities for Lifespan.

This includes establishing meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Lifespan. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied the positions major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations budgeting financial management and human resource management.

The Director of Imaging Operations will work in concert with the VP and Chief Radiologist other Imaging Directors and other leaders and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and optimize resources across the Lifespan system.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership to the imaging operations team fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.

Effectively manage and mentor a diverse team of imaging professionals. Incorporates Lifespans vision missions and values in goals and programs within Imaging Services. Prepares and delivers reports to operational leadership outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives to include performance related to finance clinical activity quality safety and human resource.

Operational Oversight: Take ownership of all imaging operations including radiology diagnostic imaging and related services.

Ensure the highest standards of quality safety and patient care are maintained across all imaging facilities. Maintain records related to operations and services that are complete accurate available and in compliance with all legal regulatory and policy requirements. Develops and implements innovative systems and processes that improve staff and patient quality and safety.

Efficiency Enhancement: Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency streamline workflows and reduce costs at a system level.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and resource utilization. Engages staff and other stakeholders in continuous improvement of systems and processes; manages resources for staff participation in improvement work activities.

Technology Integration: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in medical imaging. Evaluate and implement advanced imaging technologies and systems to enhance diagnostic capabilities and operational efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including radiologists clinicians IT specialists administrators to achieve organizational goals. Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments and facilities.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements accreditation standards and quality assurance protocols. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of imaging operations. Monitor performance metrics analyze data and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.

Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives to support organizational growth and long-term sustainability. Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on industry trends and best practices.

Talent Management: Creates and fosters environment conducive to optimum staff development employee relations and professional radiological practice.

Financial management: Actively seeks opportunities to improve financial outcomes engaging staff in the process.

Establishes annual financial goals and actively uses benchmarking to high performing systems in similar area of expertise to set annual targets. Monitors and analyzes financial data and utilizes for decisions regarding FTEs staffing and operational budget. Establishes an annual operating and capital budget demonstrating fiscal responsibility through meeting budget targets. Directs and provides guidance to managers to effectively allocate resources based on patient volume space availability budget constraints and program priorities goals and objectives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in healthcare administration business management or related field.

Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in imaging operations within a healthcare setting.

Strong understanding of medical imaging technologies workflows and regulatory requirements.

Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and process improvement initiatives across the continuum in a complex healthcare environment.

Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.

Demonstrated strong financial analytical and resource management skills.

Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and successful completion of studies equivalent to Bachelors Degree.

SUPERVISION:

Supervisory responsibility for up to +380 FTEs.
