About This Opportunity
The Senior Director of Tax will support the CFO, the executive management team, and the Board of Directors in setting tax strategy and compliance plans for the organization. This strategic position is also responsible for the Company's tax planning and accounting for income taxes, sales and use taxes, VAT and property taxes.
Lead development and implementation of Company's strategic tax plan.
Coordinate with tax managers and third-party consultants in planning as well as federal, state and international income and transactions tax compliance.
Identify areas of potential tax savings, credits and opportunities and leverage third-party expertise, as necessary, to pursue opportunities.
Assist with merger and acquisitions projects, including tax due diligence, negotiation of tax sections in acquisition agreements, and post-acquisition integration.
Actively manage quarterly and year-end tax reporting process for income taxes pursuant to ASC 740 and/or statutory income taxes pursuant to SSAP 101.
Prepare/review tax related reporting disclosures.
Manage quarterly reviews and year-end tax provision audits by the external auditor.
Prepare/Review quarterly and forecasted income tax provisions and effective tax rate.
Monitor and develop internal controls over income and transaction tax reporting processes (Sarbanes Oxley compliance).
Make meaningful contributions to development and training of Corporate Tax Department staff.
Lead tax accounting and tax return process improvements and documentation enhancements.
Assist tax planning with analyzing proposed transactions and tax planning activities.
Manage documentation of processes, procedures and technical issues.
Lead and participate in special projects and/or initiatives, as needed.
Serve as a liaison with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, lines of business and other internal customers to ensure appropriate management of tax reporting and risk.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA and/or JD required; master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
8-10 years of experience in taxation in a large corporate environment, Big 4 accounting firm, or a combination of both.
Advanced technical proficiency in ASC 740.
Experience with SEC external reporting requirements and administration of Sarbanes Oxley compliance process.
Demonstrated problem solving, leadership ability and management experience.
Proficiency in software applications, primarily Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to operate in multi-task and deadline driven environment, to work independently and to effectively manage staff.
A clear, effective communicator who can run processes and meetings effectively while having the ability to explain complex concepts in a concise way.
Sound knowledge of US federal and state income tax law.
Experience leading multi-national corporation's tax practice.
Ability to organize information and workflows and support the team in developing and implementing technology tools and automation of process in a high-control environment.
