About This Opportunity

The Senior Director of Gift Product Management will lead a small team of product managers and actively manage one of the largest Gift Card Product portfolios in the industry. Incomm's Vanilla Gift brand, along with the recently acquired American Express Gift Card portfolio [http://www.incomm.com/news-events/Pages/Press%20Releases/InComm-to-Become-Exclusive-Distributor-of-American-Express-U.S.-Prepaid-Cards.aspx] is an exciting combination of the complex world of financial services along with the distribution and challenges of consumer-packaged goods. The Senior Director of Gift Product Management will establish a strong product roadmap with inputs from various stakeholders, help bring to market new and innovative gift products, and lead the way in digitizing an established product.

Responsibilities

  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future gift product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.

  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.

  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with salespeople and evaluating sales call results.

  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.

  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.

  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with product delivery and operations.

  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.

  • Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

Qualifications

  • EX: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required

  • 5 years of software development experience required

  • CPG and/or Financial Services preferred.

  • Expertise in objected-oriented analysis and design across a variety of platforms

  • Ability to learn new technologies and translate them into working software

  • Ability to effectively communicate to internal and external business partners on solution design

The Home Depot Gift Card business includes physical, digital and mobile distribution channels and supports a variety of sales verticals including consumer gifting, employee incentives, customer rewards and loyalty, customer service and financial services. The Senior Manager of Gift Card Operations will lead efforts to develop new products, features and functionality within each vertical in addition to driving customer-facing and back-end initiatives that position the business for growth. This position will champion prioritizing gift card initiatives into internal and external roadmaps and integrating gift cards into broader strategic initiatives. Business Development efforts include managing sales relationships with key distribution partners guiding and directing work to supporting team members (eg., Marketing, Operations, Production, etc.). Importantly, the incumbent must be able to work at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (analyzing data, solving problems). MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * 20% Manages Gift Card Sales relationships. * 20% Develops strategic initiatives and develops products that leverage opportunities both in the short term (2-6 months) and long term (6+ months) to drive Gift Card Sales & THD profits. * 15% Works closely with Gift Card Sales, Marketing, and Ops Managers to identify needs, competitive trends, industry direction, and B2B needs. * 10% Develops Business Case and Implementation plans for new initiatives. Presents to Sr. Leadership and gains consensus for proposed initiatives. * 25% Manages cross-functional teams to ensure flawless delivery of new initiatives/products on time, and within budget. Incorporates feedback and input from team members and cross functional groups to ensure product viability for long term success. * 10% Negotiates contracts with providers and business partners. NATURE AND SCOPE Position reports to Director HD Incentives Number of direct reports - 1 ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Travel: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Additional Minimum Qualifications: Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. Years of Relevant Work Experience: 8 years Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
