As a Tarsus HR Business Partner, you'll drive talent strategies within the business that propel our mission to focus on unmet needs by applying proven science and new technology to revolutionize treatment for patients, starting with eye care.

Let's talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Be a consultative partner and trusted advisor, working with business leaders across multiple functions to support strategic business objectives and advise and influence on issues including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, organization design, workforce planning, onboarding, engagement, employee relations, performance management, regulatory compliance, talent development, organizational effectiveness, change management, and other special projects.

  • Incorporate business priorities into the HR plan to ensure alignment with culture and overall business objectives.

  • Manage through influence and help drive accountability throughout the organization.

  • Manage employee relations to enhance workforce performance and engagement, and conduct investigations as needed.

  • Recommend and implement strategies to drive organization performance.

  • Pull through, communication and delivery of talent development and engagement programs to ensure an effective employee experience, development of our people, and success of our business goals.

  • Provide leadership in driving our culture and employee engagement by developing engagement strategies, driving, and fostering the employee value proposition, partnering with leaders to deliver timely and effective communications, and influencing operating mechanisms to ensure alignment with strategic growth plans.

  • Deliver presentations and trainings to leadership and employees to communicate people strategy and programs, and provide people and leadership development.

HR Projects

  • Apply sound project management, problem solving and process improvement tools or methodologies to build and execute strategic and tactical plans across a variety of HR programs, processes and systems.

  • Identify, track and report key metrics and performance indicators on HR Strategy related areas to ensure progress and growth against goals and plan.

  • Organize, lead, and coordinate projects and change management, while working with colleagues and/or external consultants regarding project deliverables, roles, resource requirements, timelines and costs.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employment-related policy and provide coaching, counselling, and advice to guide leaders and HR team members with regards to HR programs, practices, policies, legislation, investigations and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop, communicate, and implement initiatives and programs that support organizational growth, drive change management and maximize employee engagement.

  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Factors for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or other related discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience required. Master's Degree is a plus.

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant Human Resources experience, including proven success and at least 5 years as a business partner, managing employee relations issues, and knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of human resource management.

  • Previous pharmaceutical/biotech experience is highly desired.

  • Possess a learning orientation and the ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  • Capability to be both strategic and tactical with the proven expertise to think, create and execute plans strategically beyond just the tactical execution.

  • Experience in evaluating and implementing tools, process, technology, and infrastructure required to attract, retain, develop talent and grow the organization.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills that can effectively address all levels within the organization. Must be a skilled presenter capable of creating business case information and influencing change across the organization.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal, regulatory, diversity and human resources related documents.

  • Sound project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, set priorities, and manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Advanced coaching/consulting, conflict resolution and facilitation skills.

  • Innovative mindset, with an ability to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions to both HR programs and business problems that drive an optimal employee experience.

  • Ability to implement and use technology, tools, and processes to stay highly organized and efficient.

  • Must be self-motivated, highly detailed and organized, able to take initiative to make or adapt to changes.

  • Strong computer and systems knowledge, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and experience with HRIS and other HR systems.

  • The position will be based in our beautiful Irvine office, complete with a courtyard, snacks, drinks, and occasional catered meals. We provide a hybrid work environment.

  • Some travel may be required - up to 20%

At Tarsus, we understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent. The expected base pay range for this position is $174,000 - $243,600 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
