Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Director will be responsible for developing and delivering key processes and systems and ensuring flawless execution of day-to-day HR Operations. This will include Benefits, HR Systems & Reporting, Onboarding & Offboarding and HR Compliance & Policies. In addition, the Director will oversee a wide range of initiatives including Recruiting, Performance Management, Compensation Administration, Employee Relations and other projects as needed. The HR Director will partner effectively with all levels of the organization and proactively provide hands-on HR guidance and coaching.

This role is based in our Lexington office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office, and 1 day remote.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain efficient HR processes to ensure continuity across the full life cycle of employment. Create and ensure effective onboarding and offboarding processes

  • Facilitate overall HR administration, processing and coordination with HR systems, Finance/Payroll and other HR partners as needed

  • Drive high quality and productivity levels in all HR operations, ensuring consistency and accuracy of processes, data and systems

  • Align HR systems and processes including recruiting, benefits, compensation, performance management, etc. with business needs and implement HR solutions as appropriate

  • Design and administer benefits plans and drive open enrollment activities, including creating and delivering communications, open enrollment systems, and answering questions about benefits during the open enrollment period

  • Oversee the management of all leaves of absence (STD/LTD/FMLA, etc)

  • Manage day-to-day system development, administration, and maintenance. Acts as project manager for related HR initiatives. Responsible for data integrity of all employee data and related systems

  • Create and provide HR reports and metrics/dashboards. Manages all internal and external data flow, system interfaces, data feeds, and reporting - with Payroll and other internal systems, benefits carriers, vendors, etc

  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to streamline processes

  • Manage the annual performance management, goal setting and salary review cycles

  • Prepare compensation data for analysis by external partners for use in equity awards and peer benchmarking

  • Provide guidance to employees and managers and conduct company-wide trainings

  • Identify, implement and administer HR policies and procedures in accordance with the organization's overall goals

  • Partner with the Payroll and Legal to ensure all compliance and reporting deadlines are met

  • Manage and mentor junior staff

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS degree in Business or Human Resources with a minimum of 15+ years HR experience, preferably in a biotech/ pharmaceutical organization

  • Experience managing human resources issues across numerous functions. PHR/SPHR certification a plus

  • Solid knowledge of Federal and State employment law and current practices and trends.

  • HRIS experience with ADP and SuccessFactors is preferred

  • Experience with leading and facilitating HR projects and initiatives

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction, take initiative, maintain relationships, and work effectively and collaboratively at all levels of the organization

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to develop and implement appropriate HR strategies, tactics, and programs aligned with business strategy

  • Ability to quickly gain the trust and confidence of the business leaders and employees

  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics; must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

  • Solid business and people acumen, strong coaching and listening skills at all levels of the organization

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including effective presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal/influencing skills, with ability to effectively coach leaders, build relationships and leverage resources within the function and across the organization

  • Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Salary is commensurate with experience
