Job Summary

Responsible for the overall management of the HR and EH&S Departments. Participates in departmental plans for continuous improvement and is responsible for the development and administration of personnel policies and procedures. This position requires a high level of confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting personnel related functions and ensures that policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Also responds to all inquiries (internal or external) regarding personnel policies, procedures and programs.

  • Partners with the Executive Team on a strategic level to meet business goals and objectives, including talent acquisition, retention and succession planning.

  • Responsible for the "confidential" record keeping in regards to employee documents.

  • Responsible for the administration of new hire procedures to include job posting, recruiting, setting up and participating in the formal interview process.

  • Directs salary administration, ensuring compliance and equity within the organization.

  • Responsible for assisting management on appropriate resolution of employee relation issues.

  • Works with management in coordinating and implementing training for supervision in regards to personnel policies and procedures.

  • Manages the performance appraisal process. Responsible for reviewing each completed appraisal before filing in personnel file.

  • Represent the company at personnel related hearings and investigations.

  • Participate and advise management in termination decisions and prepare the employee separation documentation.

  • Union contract negotiations and on-going relations.

Education and Experience

  • 10-15 years' experience with BA

  • Union relations experience required

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus
