Position Overview

The Director, Human Resources Operations, leads the team responsible for designing and running global HR operational processes as well as leveraging HRIS and other systems to store, report, and process HR information. This role requires a strategic, innovative, quality-focused mindset and emphasis on process efficiency, automation, and scalability. This role also requires strong partnership with other functions within and outside of HR and a deep understanding of interdependencies and needs across the company.

This role is hybrid. We are looking for candidates who are comfortable working onsite 3 days/week in Madison, WI. Relocation assistance may be provided if needed.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assess and implement an efficient and effective team structure to perform HR operational work.

  • Critically review and improve operational processes and use of HR systems including but not limited to Workday and ServiceNow.

  • Continuously evaluate the most scalable model for service delivery, which may include resources outside of the U.S. and/or vendors.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation of and team training on process steps and expectations.

  • Set goals, provide training, and manage performance of team members, with attention to timely, responsive, accurate, and strategic work by the team.

  • Lead the operational and system aspects of HR initiatives.

  • Maintain a close partnership with other functions within and outside of HR, with a detailed understanding of those functions' current projects, priorities, and challenges relating to HR operational needs.

  • Ensure HR operational processes stay current with all applicable legal obligations and address any non-compliance matters in a timely and effective manner.

  • Effectively manage, support, and guide HR Operations team, including, but not limited to delegating tasks and responsibilities, assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.

  • Regularly travels to U.S. Company locations to maintain in-person presence and as needed for projects and meetings; occasional travel outside the U.S. as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or field as outlined in the essential duties.

  • 10+ years of experience in the Human Resources or related function with progressively increasing responsibility.

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or direct reports, including some experience leading a HR operational team.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to HR operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and to influence without authority as well as influence confidently, effectively, and collaboratively.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading HR operations and/or systems in a variety of environments, including smaller and larger employers as well as newer and more mature organizations.

  • Experience supporting HR operations and systems outside the U.S.

Salary Range:

$152,000.00 - $242,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
