Sodexo is currently searching for a Director Health & Safety Zone. This position will cover a territory that includes: WA, CA, HI, OR, NV, UT, AZ, AK, NM, CO , WY, MT, TX, OK, ID and the selected candidate must live in one of these states. This position will work from a virtual home office.

The Director Health & Safety Zone is responsible for leading a team of Health & Safety professionals that support and consult with Sodexo business segments that include all safety disciplines, such as environment, health and safety, but may also include food safety, and product quality assurance. This Director position will collaborate and act as a Single Point of Contact for an assigned business segment. The HSE Director will demonstrate the ability to develop and implement an effective Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system, maintain regulatory compliance and contribute to Sodexo's Zero Harm culture.

Main Duties:

  • Reports directly to the VP HSE Operations Support

  • Direct HSE team of Health & Safety professionals that support multiple facilities in an assigned region/zone. Provide support, guidance, and coordinate the HSE activities and tasks of the HSE senior manager and managers.

  • High level focus on corporate HSE governance with global key initiatives that promote a Zero Harm culture.

  • This position will work closely with segments, segment champions, vice presidents, district managers, and account managers. Actively collaborate and participate as a valued member of the Service Operations team to provide HSE leadership.

  • With their team, acts in a professional manner and liaises among executive management, business units, divisions, regions and global colleagues

  • Acted as a consultant to segments and provides recommendations to executive management.

  • Provides leadership and technical support to ensure compliance with applicable corporate and regulatory requirements, while minimizing the risk of potential adverse HSE events.

  • Provided support for business units during regulatory inquiries

  • Monitored regulatory arena for new/changing regulations and rulemaking

  • Works as a team to mitigate risk and hazards that drive down safety metrics to desire global expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Functional Experience 7 to 10 years of experience in occupational health & safety programs, loss control, or related field

  • Incident Investigative skills

  • Ability to work with all levels of management

  • Good communication skills; both verbal and written

  • Time management skills

  • On-site leadership skills

  • Determines root cause analysis and facilitates appropriate remedial actions

  • Enforces compliance with company policy, federal, state, and local codes and standards involving the safety of employees and the public at a single site

  • Must possess computer skills in Microsoft 365

  • Experience with OHSAS 18001

  • OSHA 10 Hour General Industry trained

  • Professional Safety Certification a plus (ASP, STS, CSP, CSE, are examples), but not required

Position Summary

Responsible for the Health & Safety segment support as Health & Safety Single Point of Contact (HS-SPOC), strategic planning, deployment, compliance, loss prevention & incident investigation, and training within the assigned Zone. Health & Safety includes all safety disciplines, such as environment, health and safety, food safety, and product quality assurance.

DESCRIPTION Decypher is seeking Occupational Health and Safety Technician candidates to support the 99th Medical Group (99 MDG) at Nellis AFB RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs workplace industrial hygiene surveys assessing all occupational, environmental, and radiological health hazards. Provide technical data and completed forms/documentation to staff for inclusion into occupational/environmental/radiological health program files. Enter data into DOEHRS-IH in accordance with local procedures and Air Force requirements. * Inspects, tests, and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure they follow all applicable standards and government regulations in accordance with AF requirements. Includes sample collection and survey measurements of potential hazards and engineering controls. * Recommends health hazard controls to mitigate hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment. * Assists staff in monitoring environmental conditions on the installation to include the collection of water samples for compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, swimming pool and bathing area water quality evaluations and program compliance, and occupational and environmental health site assessment sampling. * Demonstrates to workplaces the correct use of personal protective equipment and other health hazard controls. * Provides training and perform fit-testing on respiratory protection devices to include gas mask fit-testing. * Investigates occupational illnesses and injuries to identify why they happened and how they might be prevented in the future. * Performs evaluations for compliance with fetal protection requirements. * Reviews hazardous materials requests, plans, work orders, contracts and specifications for compliance with environmental and occupational health directives. * Serves as a member on committees for occupational health, and environmental protection matters. Required Skills * Associate's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Occupational Health/Safety, Core Science or Engineering Technology * Knowledge in and understanding of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), Analytical Methods sampling guides, NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygiene (ACGIH) Threshold Limit Values (TLV) and Biological Exposure Indices (BEI) Booklet, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards, and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards * Knowledgeable in proper selection of personnel protective equipment (PPE). * Standard use of office equipment, such as computers, typewriters, copiers, fax machines, scanners, telephone and office automation systems. * Use of Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel at a minimum) to prepare reports and other documents. * General medical ethics, telephone etiquette and excellent communication and customer services skills. * Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate activities such as appointments, meetings, and suspense timelines. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. * English language, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written and electronic correspondence and reports.
