Job Summary

Molina Health Plan Operations jobs are responsible for the development and administration of our State health plan's operational departments, programs and services, in alignment with Molina Healthcare's overall mission, core values, and strategic plan and in compliance with all relevant federal, state and local regulations.


  • Under the leadership of the Plan President, Plan Chief Operations Officer, or VP, Health Plan Operations, plans, organizes, staffs, and coordinates the operations of a small-to-medium sized health plan (with less than 350,000 members, a single line of business, and/or limited geographic dispersion).

  • Works with staff and senior management to develop and implement provider and member service strategies to improve access and satisfaction with the Plan.

  • Serves as liaison for MHI Operations, including: Claims, Configuration Information Management, Provider Data Management, Enrollment, and Contact Center Operations.

  • Oversees Enrollment and Contact Center Operations to ensure compliance with health plan requirements. Works collaboratively with Corporate business owners to mitigate risk related to enrollment processes and call center performance.

  • Oversees the Plan's Provider Network Administration activities, specifically ensuring that corporate staff receive data to load correct provider, contract and benefit configuration to support accurate claims payment and for development of accurate provider directories.

  • May oversee Provider Credentialing activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Oversees the Provider Issue Research and Resolution function and the provider claim reconsideration process. Coordinates activities and executes strategies to address opportunities to improve provider satisfaction and reduce operational risk in conjunction with Provider Services.

  • Oversees the Member Appeals and Grievance process; completes analytics to identify trends; and executes strategies to improve member satisfaction.

  • Develops and executes effective member retention strategies to achieve desired retention goals. Also serves as a key partner with community outreach to achieve profitable growth.

  • Business owner of Member Stakeholder Experience team initiatives, including: member static website, member web portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and successful communication and implementation with members, employees and other key stakeholders to limit operational impact.

Job Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Services Administration or related field.

Required Experience

  • 7-10 years experience in Healthcare Administration, Managed Care, and/or Provider Services.

  • Experience managing/supervising employees.

  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to change and to new ideas and approaches.

Required License, Certification, Association


Preferred Education

Master's Degree in Business, Health Administration or related field.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Medicaid and Medicare managed care plans.

Preferred License, Certification, Association

VIEW JOBS 3/23/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-21T00:00 The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (HSC) Office for Community Health (OCH) contributes to HSC's vision of working with community partners to improve health and health equity in New Mexico. The OCH oversees a range of programs, initiatives and activities that address statewide health priorities. One of these programs is the Community Health Workers Initiative (CHWI), which is an innovative program that seeks to improve the health of communities by training and supporting CHWs in a wide range of settings in New Mexico. CHWI includes key CHW programs: Pathways to a Healthy Bernalillo County (Pathways), Bernalillo County Adverse Childhood Events ACES), UNMH Resource Re-entry Center (RRC), Presbyterian Accountable Health Communities (AHC) Care, and the City of Albuquerque Intensive Case Management (ICM) contracts. The OCH is seeking a values-driven, process-oriented CHWI program operations director with experience in CHW program implementation including: understanding of supervision support, coaching and mentoring for CHWs; ability to work with MCOs, clinics, non-profit organizations and other partners to increase CHW effectiveness; evaluation and monitoring of CHW programs; ability to develop CHW strategies and write grants for CHW programming and sustainability; and experience with budgets, grants and contracts management. The candidate will oversee both day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the CHWI, as well as provide the guidance and support for the programmatic and technical components of CHW programs. This position will also be part of the OCH Executive Leadership Team to drive forward HSC strategies as related to community health. As such, the successful candidate will have the following qualities: * Ability to develop and support detailed operational plans and dashboards that can be tracked and integrated into the HSC Strategies * Proven track record of reaching goals, making effective organizational decisions and supporting a team to deliver measurable results * Experience building teams and leading a supportive, team-oriented organizational culture * Partnership experience to be able to grow the relationships and support effective programming and shared goals between CHWI and other partners such as the county, city, MCOs, and other depts within the HSC * Ability to identify areas in need of policy advocacy at city, county, and state levels that emerge as systemic problems or gaps as learned through implementation of CHWI programs and through collaborative involvement with community partners See the Position Description for additional information. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
