Are you an experienced public affairs professional? Are you able to build and maintain a network and represent the LEGO Group towards lawmakers, regulators, NGOs and other stakeholders in the Americas market? Then join our global Government and Public Affairs team in a Connecticut based role.

Represent the LEGO Group towards external stakeholders

In this role, you diligently map and engage with key stakeholders and advocate a clear position aligned with the LEGO Values and strategic intentions. As such, you get a unique opportunity to set the direction for the industry by leading the government and public affairs work, representing the LEGO Group and influencing legislation to protect children and support the LEGO Group's objectives, in a role that covers the Americas Market Group with a particular focus on the United States, Canada and Latin America. To do so, you:

  • Monitor, communicate and contribute on upcoming legal requirements and standard

  • Take a leading role in the market toy and trade associations, including setting strategy and influencing direction on key regulatory issues related to children's marketing, data privacy, intellectual property and emerging technologies and trends.

  • Map, assess, manage and communicate legislative risks and opportunities

  • Partner with US, Canadian and Latin American business leaders and functions to understand their priorities, increase collaboration and facilitate the success of their business plans.

Working out of our Enfield, Connecticut office, you join a supportive, collaborative and global team. We want to contribute to the development of legislation related to product safety, marketing to children and other areas of relevance to the LEGO Group. Here, you will have a direct role in shaping the agenda and setting the priorities and will be trusted to lead initiatives with a high degree of independence and decision-making. You will play a key role in our engagement in the regulatory process, one focused on protecting children while allowing them to safely experience the many benefits of creative play.

Strong track record in public affairs and great at tailoring your messages

You will be challenged by the heightened legislative and regulatory activities in the Americas market, which are critical to the Americas business and The LEGO Group. It is essential that you are able to use your commitment and expertise to engage in thoughtful, respectful dialogue with decision-makers and communicate and resolve complex and sensitive issues with diplomacy. To facilitate this, you:

  • Hold a degree in Law, Communication, Political Science, International Affairs, Public Affairs or a technical field combined with 7-10 years of government affairs experience in a corporate environment.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of product safety regulations, marketing practices for children's products, intellectual property rights and emerging technologies.

  • Have strong social skills enabling you to effectively engage with people from differing backgrounds and with diverse perspectives and opinions.

  • Deliver high quality, effective written and verbal communication to a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Have experience with consumer goods, trade associations or a background in government.

  • Can travel 40-50 days a year, primarily in the Americas region with some broader international travel
