Your Impact

The Director, Global Trade Compliance will be responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the GTC Program and effectively managing your GTC team in support of current and long-term trade compliance needs. You will lead group projects with members and key stakeholders from a variety of functions and areas.

Heres where youll demonstrate your competencies:

  • Design and implement processes, policies, and technical solutions aligned with the global trade strategy and business objectives, working with internal groups as necessary to define requirements, while fostering broader understanding of requirements across teams and stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships across the global business to inform management and employees on trade compliance elements for international transactions, providing current information and advice on international trade rules and regulations.

  • Integrate global trade requirements into business processes and monitor compliance with all applicable import/export regulatory requirements; drive strategic direction of trade compliance processes to ensure robust risk mitigation management consistent with requirements of all countries and regions in which Fortive/ASP transacts business.

  • Hire, manage, and develop GTC staff (two US analysts and two regional managers) to ensure effective support to all organizational activities, working collaboratively to implement effective processes, controls, and work instructions.

  • Manage risk mitigation and trade audits; develop, update, and enforce trade compliance policies and procedures; and develop and deliver trade compliance training.

  • Conduct transactional due diligence, including in M&A transactions.

  • Support global sites in internal assessments, desk audits, completing post audit follow up actions, and developing programs that proactively identify common themes and address compliance issues across sites and regions.

Qualifications:


Our Needs

We need your demonstrated expertise in all areas of trade compliance and proven track record of implementing scalable compliance solutions (systems, procedures & processes) in a highly regulated environment.

Heres what well need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with a JD or related Masters Degree preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in compliance management with demonstrated experience managing trade compliance activities in a multi-national company.

  • Extensive knowledge of US and/or foreign regulations governing imports and exports (including but not limited to EAR, OFAC, US Customs).

  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience, including experience leading a global team.

  • Customs House Brokers License a plus.

  • Experience with Healthcare/FDA and Hazmat regulations is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and ERP systems such as SAP.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
