As a Global Technology Director supporting Lubrizol's Fluids Engineering (LFE) business, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, leading a group of technologists and development lab technicians to deliver platforms, products and technology to maintain and grow the business. In this leadership role, you will ensure the team has skills and resources to work directly with product management team, technology deployment, and sales to meet customer needs for new product development. You will also be responsible for the refrigeration and industrial product solutions that comprise the core of the LFE business and drives innovation and technical advances in both products and development capabilities.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a department of technologists to deliver platforms, products and technology to maintain and grow LFE business.

• Lead recruitment and development, ensures the team has skills and resources to work directly with customers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

• Lead the development of the annual technical budget and the ongoing management of technical spend to deliver products to meet business and customer needs.

• Ensure correct resources are applied to priority workload and decisions are made on detailed business case.

• Interact with wide network in Legal, Operations, R&D, Sales, Commercial, to ensure products and platform strategies account for regulatory, legal, and operational complexity drivers.

• Interact with customers and OEMs as a recognized technical expert.

• Influence decisions on product development, industry guidelines and OEM specification development and presents advocacy at technical conferences.

• Interact with internal and external resource groups to ensure resources, equipment, chemical and mechanical tests, are available to meet project requirements.

Skills That Make A Difference:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or other technical field, MS/PhD preferred.

• Minimum 10 years in technical technology role, with developed understanding of chemical performance in hardware.

• 5 years' experience in a supervisory role.

• Recognized technical expert both internal to company and external.

• Experience participating in decision making relating to complexity in chemical regulations, legal IP, operational complexity.

• Understands industry trends and impact on the business.

• Experience as the decision maker in the development and management of technical budget and allocation of resources to projects with detailed business case.

• Experience leading others in product development, customer interaction, OEM influence.
