This position requires a highly motivated professional with proven expertise in US tax and international tax principles and matters. The candidate should be a highly collaborative individual who thrives in a fast paced and high growth environment.

The Director of Global Tax will supervise and manage an internal team, and direct outside accounting firms and external tax advisors. The position reports to the Vice President of Global Tax and is based in Malvern, PA.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of all foreign, federal, state and local tax returns through coordinated efforts with outside tax preparers

Support the VP of Global Tax in international tax planning and overall tax budgeting

Oversee Quarterly Global Current and Deferred tax calculation and reviews

Quarterly Fin 48 calculation review

Quarterly preparation of transfer pricing calculations

Review of monthly intercompany charge calculations in relation to transfer pricing models

Transfer Pricing BEPS reporting requirements and documentation

Initiate research, interpretation, & advisement of changing tax legislation and related income tax regulations, rules and case law, identifying areas of opportunity and tax minimization

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in taxation or comparable advanced degree

Certified Public Accountant
8-10 years of relevant tax experience

Experience in a tax department of a multi-national public company, including supervisory experience, preferably in the life science industry

Experience in big four public accounting firms with tax or transaction services preferred

Strong understanding of multinational enterprises, consolidated tax groups, and tax planning

Proven track record in US Federal and State tax matters, and experience in international direct and indirect tax compliance

Tax and US GAAP accounting skills

Analytical and decision-making skills

Strong communication skills

Strong writing and editing skills

Knowledge of tax depreciation regulations

Experience with OneSource Tax Provision Software, OneSource Transfer Pricing Documentation, and SAP


Travel: 10% of the time, primarily New York, NY, and Portsmouth, NH

VIEW JOBS 11/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-12T00:00 The Workplace Technology Lead will be responsible for owning the Corporate Real Estate Facility Management (CREFM)'s workplace technology strategy and integrated road-map. This will involve ongoing interactions and alignment with Global Technology Operations (GTO), Security, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, this role will drive alignment of workplace technology efforts with CREFM's broader technology and service delivery strategies. The position reports to the Global Workplace Strategy Lead. Duties & Responsibilities * Develop and drive an integrated workplace technology roadmap that improves the Crew experience and aligns to CREFM's technology/data and workplace strategies; combine knowledge of real estate with current state of technology systems, long-term CREFM organization strategy, and industry leading practices to drive workplace technology planning, deployment, and guidance for operations. * Manage interactions and relationships with GTO, Security, HR, and other key stakeholders as relates to the workplace technology strategy and its interdependencies with broader digital workplace solutions and the end-to-end Crew experience. * Distill and leverage insights from big data and analytics to inform new, innovative solutions for the Vanguard workplace; identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study; participate in Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate technology architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption. * Lead discussions with key stakeholders in governance forums to secure strategy and business case approvals, and to report results; evaluate outcomes relative to original business case objectives and metrics. * Prioritize investments in coordination with CREFM, GTO, Security, and other key stakeholders. * Track industry and application trends and relate these to planning current and future Crew needs; conduct horizon scanning and leading practice research to inform product solutions that improve current and future CREFM needs. * Foster an innovative culture across CREFM with an eye toward agility, scalability, and reliability. * Hold accountability for compliance with Vanguard architecture, information security, data standards, and other requirements. * Oversee consistent roll-out of and compliance with policies, processes, standards, and initiatives; provide guidance for CREFM stakeholders involve in project and service delivery as relate to workplace technology. * Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience; advanced degree preferred. * Minimum eight years of CRE, IT or related experience, four of which pertaining to workplace technology management; relevant experience in digital workplace ecosystems and business process automation (BPA) a plus. * Strong foundation in data analytics and ability to communicate data insights to key stakeholders. * Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive change, generate creative approaches / solutions and the desire to make CREFM's Global Workplace team a "best-in-class" global organization. * Demonstrated executive presence and poise; ability to interact effectively with senior management as well as various levels of staff and management across the organization. * Demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, ambiguous environment working with multiple and diverse responsibilities. * Excellent relationship management skills as the role entails significant interaction with a variety of external and internal senior leadership. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate technical and nontechnical information to various levels throughout the division. * Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines; excellent project management skills with a proven delivery / execution track record. * Proven ability to develop and implement new business plans or change direction of business plans in a dynamic environment; ability to motivate others and foster teamwork. * Knowledge of Vanguard business lines preferred; may be required to travel between sites, up to 10% of time as needed.
