WATER QUALITY GROUP

Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including HACH, ChemTreat, and Trojan Technologies.

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of this position is to provide global leadership and direction and hands on involvement regarding quality and continuous improvement, using the Danaher Business System (DBS) implementation in support of global strategic and policy deployment objectives for the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and provides global recommendations for the identification and selection of improvement projects.

  • Drive the development of quality related policy deployment and KPI objectives.

  • Collaborate with internal customers including sales team to continuously improve customer complaint process.

  • Lead our Medical Device Regulatory strategy including global product registrations, quality systems readiness, ISO 13485 and MDSAP, Medical Device change control and compliant complaint process.

  • Coordinate all quality actions through & across all functional areas & departments.

  • Work with new product development teams on Design for Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturability aimed at improving product quality and reliability.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of supplier quality objectives including qualification process and supplier corrective actions, with special focus on manufacturing process controls.

  • Monitor and reports on quality metrics and progress toward quality goals including internal, incoming and external quality and complaint handling process.

  • Develop a global quality management systems to drive best practices in quality system compliance, efficiency and readiness for new standards implementation

  • Lead Hach to the implementation of a global document control and Learning Management System

  • Provide direction and expert level guidance within Hach and Danaher for best practices in Problem solving, manufacturing process controls, and continuous improvement tools

  • Work with operations team to implement quality control tools and processes to control processes, improve yields and reduce scrap and rework.

  • Drive "Best Practices" across the global business and develops staff in the Quality culture to meet business performance criteria.

  • Initiate and participate in Danaher and non-Danaher benchmarking to ensure the organization is creating best-in-class processes and business results.

  • Develop team that maximizes the potential of each group and team member.

  • Lead global team of Quality Managers in coordinating support and maintenance of our ISO quality system.

  • Support Open Innovation and Acquisition activities as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in a technical discipline (Physical Sciences or Engineering).

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • In depth knowledge and/or formal training in quality principles and technical tools (Quality Systems, problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, design for six sigma, control charts and other quality methodologies) with the ability to train and provide consultation.

  • Black Belt Six Sigma preferred

  • 8-10 years' experience in a manufacturing or quality environment including experience in leading global cross-functional teams.

  • Has experience with a FDA-compliant design control, change control, process control and quality system management related to medical devices.

  • Demonstrated computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools).

  • Experience in setting strategic direction while analyzing problems and improve products and processes.

  • Experience in providing concise executive summaries of quality issues, changes needed or made, results delivered.

Description POSITION SUMMARY: The function of a Technician II, Quality includes the following: * Provide incoming inspection of designated parts (purchased or manufactured) to ensure they meet designated specifications. * Verify compliance documentation for CE, UL, ATEX and other certification of purchased parts. * Provide support to the New Product Integration (NPI) and Component Engineers (CE) in the area of mechanical and electrical inspection. Including First Article Inspection (FAI) dimensional, visual and functional inspection/testing of components and sub-assemblies. * Monitor component quality performance of FAI parts over time to identify chronic quality issues and work with NPI/Component Engineer or Buyer to resolve. * Support Loveland quality improvement efforts including fabrication, injection molding, printed circuit board assembly, and instrument assembly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs simple to complex mechanical and electrical inspection on components and assemblies. * Participates in FAI review meetings involving Quality, NPI and Component Engineers * Works with NPI, CE and Buyer to resolve component quality issues. * Works with NPI engineers to resolve quality issues identified in First Article inspection work. * Execute Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) mechanical measurements programs of complex parts. * Verify through inspection, test and appropriate statistical applications that corrective action is valid. * Performs environmental, functional and operational testing. * Read and interpret blueprints and drawing as they relate to specifications, including circuit diagrams. * Initiate and help define inspection method sheets and part qualification plans. * Initiates and reviews Engineering Change Orders (ECO). * Performs maintenance of component specifications and requirements. * Provides visual and dimensional problem-solving support in identifying root causes of problem parts. OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Qualifications * Associate degree or equivalent work experience with focus in a technical field (electronics, inspection, and mechanical design) required. * Three to five years experience inspection operations or related experience preferred. * Practical knowledge in technical areas of electronics, mechanical design and related inspection and inspection tools. * Computer skills including word processing, Excel, report development, graphics and basic statistics programs. * Should be able to understand and apply various problem-solving tools, including systematic problem-solving methods. * Familiar with and ability to apply statistical tools in analyzing and presenting quality results from inspections and component capability studies.
