The Director Global Procurement will provide overall leadership and management for the Life Science Procurement organization. This is a nearly $1 billion dollar business with responsibility for overall leadership in Strategic Procurement, Value Engineering, and Component Engineering in Indianapolis; South Florida; Suzhou, China; Marseille, France; and, other global sites.
Responsibilities for this will include cost improvements including PPV/MUV saving, strategic sourcing, and supplier quality initiatives, support new product development by prioritizing and allocating resources; oversee process improvement and breakthroughs within procurement in accordance with company strategies, develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with leading experts, other companies, joint ventures, and OEMs; and ensures all FDA, ISO, and related regulatory requirements are consistently met.
Establishes and approves organizational objectives and assignments, delegating assignments to staff
Forecasts staffing requirements across multiple departments
Develops resource strategies, allocates budgets, staff, tools, and specialized support necessary for cost-effective business solutions
Reviews and monitors operating budgets
Leads the group's involvement in the planning processes; participates in division, corporate strategic and tactical planning processes
Communicates project status to executive management, users and staff that can have company-wide impact
Champion for the Danaher Business System (DBS)
Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience or Master's/Doctoral degree with 18+ years' experience and at least 6+ years managing people
Leadership and management experience in developing & mentoring high performance teams across multi-departmental organizations
Demonstrated results in leading MUV/PPV cost reductions, supplier risk analyses and management, commodity strategy development, and inventory and cash flow improvements across multiple sites
Substantial experience working cross-functionally with R&D, product marketing, finance and other functional teams in product development / New Product Introduction
Financial/cost accounting experience managing multiple cost centers and budgets.
Team player with strong customer orientation and ability to work in multinational and multicultural environment.
Proven leadership, negotiation, and public presentation skills
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates Drive for Results in personal, team and organizational performance
Models humility, transparency and integrity in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Operations experience a plus
