Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in engineering, chemistry or supply chain. MBA or Master's degree is also strongly preferred.
  • CPM/CPI or similar Procurement or Supply Chain certification preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in a global, industrial manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge in raw material sourcing, procurement processes and best practices.

  • An extensive background in the chemical industry is required

  • Ability to travel

  • Experience with merges and acquisitions and the impact of the procurement function on the due diligence and integration process

Special Requirements (includes Necessary Language skills):

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Ability to think strategically.

  • Fact-based approach with solid analytical skills.

  • Ability to review and negotiate supply contracts including strong understanding of standard contract terms and terminology.

  • Ability to work cross-culturally with subordinates colleagues and suppliers throughout the world.

  • Ability to interface and communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and in writing) across all levels of the organization including senior management.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and SAP.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support GCP's Safety culture by demonstrating leadership as the company works towards an accident-free environment (Constantly)

  • Promote GCP's vision of striving to be an innovator construction products & technologies company and demonstrating and integrating its core values into daily activities (Constantly)

  • Responsible for sourcing and procurement of $800M per year of spend serving over 50 manufacturing plants globally, including commodity and specialty chemicals as well as MRO and Capital project requirements.

  • Lead the development of value-accretive strategies for strategic raw materials to minimize the total cost of ownership to the company and keep alignment between the procurement and the business strategies, to ensure deliverables of financial results. This position requires cross-functional skills as it works closely with sales, R&D, information systems, manufacturing and finance.

  • Develop strong win/win relationships with suppliers that will allow for combined efforts that will take cost and steps out of the process, thereby improving performance and profits.

  • Lead a team of 40 procurement professional around the globe and be responsible for developing a strong and results oriented team, managing cultural differences to coach and develop the next leader

  • Work closely with regional and global business leaders to ensure appropriate alignment consistent with business goals

  • Indentify and drive supply chain productivity across all segments

  • Lead the company's Procure-to-Pay strategy

  • Systematically gather and maintain industry market intelligence related to strategic raw materials

  • Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan to meet or exceed expectations (done during H2)

The incumbent reports to the Head of NA Rare Diseases to lead our collaborations with patient advocacy groups in North America, champion the patient perspective across internal functional groups and develop innovative solutions and programs to meet the dynamic needs of the patient community. This position sits on the US Rare Diseases Senior Leadership team and is responsible in? the understanding the business model and needs of US Rare Diseases. Responsibilities: * Develops and implements short and long-term strategies to integrate and advance the various Sanofi Genzyme patient resources and support services offered to the Rare Diseases patient community. * Provides strategic insight on the pulse of the patient populations and ensures strong collaborations with patient advocacy groups. * Develops a proactive approach to managing and enhancing our relationships with patient communities. Builds relationships and provides guidance to existing and/or evolving patient associations. * Identifies and coordinates patient presentations to internal Sanofi Genzyme meetings. * Articulates the themes of the overall patient community to internal Sanofi Genzyme colleagues. Responds to and manages external presentations to professional organizations and non-profit partners in the Rare Diseases community. * Successfully works with external patient organizations to help them grow and develop into high functioning and sustainable organizations. * Strategically manages and budgets the sponsorships and charitable donations to US patient organizations. * Stays current with relevant information and resources regarding industry and health care legislation. Provides updates regularly to the disease communities. * Recruit, manage and develop direct report team. Qualifications - External * Bachelor's degree in science, social science or related field. Previous patient advocacy experience. * 10+ years of progressive experience in a healthcare or social services non-profit/corporate setting. * Familiarity with drug development process. * Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including strong presentation skills; competent and confident in presenting to senior leadership. * Ability to relate with a diverse group of individuals and develop rapport quickly. * Ability to influence in a proactive, objective and diplomatic manner within all levels of the company and outside community leaders. * Works collaboratively, independently and with a sense of urgency. Able to prioritize areas of strategic importance to the company and to help articulate to senior management. * Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities. * Ability to use both strategic and tactical approaches to problem-solving and multi-tasking. * Able to create a positive work environment for team to help retain and develop staff. * Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Word systems. Preferred: * Advanced degree in psychology, counseling or social work preferred.
