The primary responsibility of this position is to lead Pricing and Market Access strategy development for the I&I Biosimilar portfolio. The incumbent will generate and synthesize pricing and payer insights; support development of market access strategies, including customer value propositions and pricing strategies across varying market archetypes globally with special focus on the US and Canada. The individual will report to the PHI I&I Integrated Market Access Team Lead
Develop and deliver Pricing and Access strategies needed to optimize global patients' access to the Biosimilars Immunology & Inflammation
Deliver clear recommendations relating to payer strategy, pricing and reimbursement, evidence generation, data collection and value proposition
Represent the 'Voice of the Payer' at cross-functional team and governance bodies
Bring creative solutions to the team while employing leading-edge methodologies and by identifying and scaling innovative ideas
Work efficiently and collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment
Develop effective processes and ways of working to support collaboration with key internal stakeholder groups such as commercial, medical, finance, and public affairs
Understand and shape health care environment: (a) Demonstrate expertise in payer regulation and priorities and determines implications on product pricing and access strategies; (b) Demonstrate understanding of the limitations of specific data sources on market landscape, analogs & P&R trends; (c) Interpret trends shaping the future price and access landscape to provide input into development and BD decisions; (d) Skills to pressure tests and challenges assumptions on pricing and access opportunities and hurdles
Generate Insights and engagement plan with Pricing and Reimbursement Stakeholders: (a) Demonstrate understanding of limitations of various methodologies to address business questions on price potential or access scenarios; (b) Design research with minimal guidance and ensures alignment among relevant cross-functional disciplines; (c) Synthesize results to analyze the price potential and access scenarios and develop risk mitigation strategies
Develop Product/Portfolio Value Proposition:(a)Lead the cross-functional teams to assess the of impact of key product attributes on access and pricing for development or BD assets; (b) Develop a comprehensive view of product opportunities and threats to inform key asset decision points with insight on payer needs for differentiation, endpoints and comparators; (c) Analyze and prioritize critical evidence requirements and assesses implications of not addressing certain stakeholder evidence needs; (d) Highlight differences in stakeholder value perceptions to analyze implications on product development; (e) Develop comprehensive view of product opportunities and threats, and pricing/access scenarios and work with cross-functional team to develop a mitigation plan
Develop Pricing and Access Strategies, map product pricing globally and optimize value: (a) Lead development of a Global Pricing Policy for launch assets evaluating price optimization scenarios based on indication sequencing; (b) Continuously cross-reference with country and global colleagues to inform product pricing and market access strategy; (c) Analyze and consider opportunities, challenges and trends across regions, payer archetypes; (d) Develop payer negotiation framework and other market access &pricing tools to demonstrate product value; (e) Analyzes and considers opportunities, challenges and trends across markets/regions/ payer archetypes
Provide support to markets -with special focus on the US, Canada -and global functions with regional scope to achieve pricing and reimbursement targets: (a) Guides regional platforms in tailoring and adapting resources to local market dynamics and stakeholder needs; (b) Demonstrate knowledge of the risk and benefits of various pricing and access strategy options;
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in a healthcare, business or economic field preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in healthcare environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the global payer and market access environment
Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development and interaction with customers
US pricing & access experience
Experience/familiarity with commercial/biosimilars/post LOE access management
Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
Knowledge and understanding of health economics and associated skills
Strong interpersonal skills and active listening.
