As the Director of the Global Health Program, this position is responsible for planning, directing and maintaining the full range of strategic and managerial oversight required for international business development, financial analysis and modeling, strategic planning and operations for International Patient services at CHLA.# Responsible for developing and managing relations with international partners, negotiating business relationships, developing market strategy, leading market assessments, and identifying new opportunities for CHLA to capitalize on globally. Partners with both Administrative and Medical Leadership to lead, plan, and execute CHLA#s strategic direction linked to international business development and optimizing international referrals to grow international market share.

Minimum Experience Required

Ten to twelve years

experience required, experience at an academic medical center or not-for-profit healthcare system and/or strategic planning/business development background preferred.

Comprehensive business development and program administration knowledge in health care administration


Working knowledge of international patient services programs


Experience must include successful program planning

, implementation, evaluation, and budget preparation/ management.

Solid financial skills

, including ability to oversee financial planning. Education Required Master#s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related field is required.

Essential Job Functions * Supervise a team of analysts and other staff to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate internal and external public health programs to promote improved population health outcomes. * Supervise and participate in the coordination and facilitation of collaborative efforts among public, private, and non-profit groups and community organizations to meet the needs of the population in the SPA; provide leadership, technical assistance, advocacy, and coalition-building on behalf of the Area Health Office. * Oversee the analysis and review and develop written recommendations regarding budgets and administrative projects, as well as documents related to policy issues, pending legislation, regulations, and technical research and position papers related to the SPA. * Review and develop written reports on SPA activities and progress toward achieving the overall goals of the SPA; develop written goals and plans for the SPA. * Conduct meetings with departmental, public, private, and non-profit groups and community organizations to discuss and influence policy issues impacting the assigned SPA. * Supervise and participate in the development and implementation of community action plans and policies. * Supervise the work of SPA staff and coordinate the activities of professional and technical staff implementing the objectives and goals of the SPA. * Attend and conduct meetings with department officials and members of community-based organizations and the public interested in resolving issues and influencing health outcomes. * Oversee the evaluation of awareness campaigns; oversee and assist in the design and layout of promotional materials and disseminate products such as flyers, newsletters, pamphlets, posters, and articles related to the SPA priorities.
