The Global Data Governance Director is a key position responsible for driving Hach's Data Governance vision and leading the cross-functional Global Data Reporting Governance Body. The mission for this position is to streamline access to the current, accurate, and global information needed by Hach's decision-makers to make high-quality decisions.


Setting Strategy

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance framework and implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities

  • Serve as a liaison between business and functional areas and IT to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise

  • Develop & maintain an inventory of the enterprise information maps, including systems of record

  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies and standards in conjunction with IT

Innovation and Influence

  • Collaborate with IT to establish data-related processes, tools and architecture

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for the stewardship of the company's principal information assets

  • Collaborate with business leaders on identifying new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business asset with senior leadership

  • Provide progress reports to senior leadership


  • Reports to the Hach CFO

  • Leads a small team of data stewards

  • Strong interaction with all functions and regions within Hach


  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree required in a related field study or comparable work experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on data analytics or data warehousing project delivery experience

  • 5+ years of experience in successfully leading global projects

  • Must demonstrate structured thinking regarding data systems and data analysis

  • Well versed in data governance practices, data quality, business and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets and approaches to data protection

  • Knowledge of data related to government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues

  • Demonstrated consulting skills with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design

  • Exposure to key IT systems desired ex. Infor RP, Oracle EBS, Power BI, Qliksense, SalesForce

  • Demonstrated experience in synthesizing inputs from global partners and cross-functional teams in dealing with complexity and ambiguity

  • Capable of driving timely decisions while being open to different perspectives

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Treatments and testing include Immunotherapy and complete Allergy solutions.</p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong> We are seeking a Global SOX Compliance Manager who owns and leads the Company's SOX Compliance effort for our Corporate and International entities. The SOX Compliance Manager will have a leading role in defining the risk assessment, control objectives and monitoring ongoing compliance efforts. This position will partner with employees at all levels of the Company to develop, implement, and continuously improve internal controls. This position will work closely with other members of the Finance and Accounting team to drive company and department success while enhancing their own personal development. Heska is a fast-paced environment and the job will require a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, constant attention to detail and deadlines and the ability to learn quickly. </p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong></p><p><strong>SOX Compliance: </strong></p><p></p><ul> <li>Consults with the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller, as well as subsidiary Controllers or other delegated responsibility for SOX framework, and process owners to scope significant accounts, business processes, locations, and systems. </li> <li>Manage the SOX program and year-end financial audits with the external auditor.</li> <li>Coordinate with the external auditors on the nature, timing, and extent of testing for entity-level and other financial process controls. </li> <li>Work in partnership with management and external service firm to assess, design, and improve cost-effective internal controls over the reliability of financial reporting, the safeguarding of assets, and compliance with regulatory requirements. </li> <li>Coordinates internal control testing and evaluation of exceptions by audit staff as supplemented with staff from an external consulting firm, and for reliance by the external audit firm. </li> <li>Partner with other teams to evaluate and improve internal control over financial reporting processes including appropriate segregation of duties. </li> <li>Conduct, supervise, and assist in the maintenance and preparation of clear, detailed, and accurate compliance documentation including process narratives, flow charts, control descriptions, risk and control matrices, work programs, test results, and management responses/remediation plans ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting processes </li> <li>Drives risk assessments to identify and assess the risks to Heska’s financial reports and attainment of business objectives. </li> <li>Analyze and conclude on the effectiveness/efficiency of control environments within scope and under review, including identifying control gaps and opportunities for improvement, presenting results to company management, and assisting in the development of responsive action plans. </li> <li>Utilize subject matter expertise to respond to questions and provide assistance with requests from control owners and business partners. </li> <li>Collaborate with others to ensure business process changes meet compliance requirements before they are operational. </li> <li>Ability to effectively manage budget and communicate any potential overages in a timely manner to leadership. </li> <li>Manage and conduct effective internal audits that evaluate internal control in higher risk areas of the business for efficiency and effectiveness, that business risks are mitigated to an acceptable level, that assets are adequately protected, that financial information is appropriate for its intended use;
