Role Overview: The Director, Fund Administration position will manage a business line within our Outsourced Accounting and Reporting Services practice (the "Outsourcing Practice"). The Outsourcing Practice focuses on private equity and provides customized bundles of accounting and reporting services to our clients, which include, but are not limited to, entry of all accounting transactions and related recordkeeping; preparation and e-delivery of quarterly unaudited financial statements and investor reports; preparation and e-delivery of investor capital calls and distributions; coordination of annual audits, including drafting the footnotes to the audited financials; coordination of annual partnership income tax returns and e-delivery of Schedule K-1s to investors; maintenance of clients' online investor portals; responding to ad hoc questions from clients and their investors; administering the treasury function including lines of credit.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Client Service
Act as top escalation point for all client and practice-related issues
Conduct wellness checks on all clients to ensure white glove service provided by the team
LPA & GAAP technical subject matter expert
Manage Client/ Client Entity onboarding; review final summary documents, confirm software configuration, assure "go-live' checks are completed
Manage initial and ongoing engagement risk analysis for each client
Be the final reviewer of key deliverables for all clients
Practice Management
Practice effectiveness:
Establish & implement policies and procedures for sound control environment
Leverage broader Dynamo resources
Manage annual SOC audit
Actively participate in industry events and conferences
Practice Profitability:
Manage/monitor engagement economics
Determine client retainers
Identify & implement internal and external opportunities for profitability enhancements
Practice Administration:
Order form management
Billing coordination
Recruiting
Training of staff
Drive the product roadmap for needed features and functionality to run the fund administration practice
New business development
Lead sales effort and coordinate with sales and marketing teams
Participate in webinars/demonstrations
Resource Development & Management
Manage the staffing utilization analysis and ensuring proper staffing assignments
Coordinate and execute on the hiring process for all new team members
Generate and manage ongoing training and development for your staff members
What you bring:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting + CPA
10+ years of experience in private equity or partnership investment accounting, including 8+ years in a managerial/leadership role
Previous fund administration or private fund experience preferred
Understanding of the private equity and venture capital industry
Experience in understanding and interpreting waterfall calculations, management fees and carried interest allocations
Ability to multi task and balance priorities while maintain a high level of attention to detail
Technical interest / aptitude, including strong Excel skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to mentor and develop staff members to ensure proper client support and success plans for future growth of the practice
