As the Director of Foster Parent Education, you work alongside some of Massachusetts' most talented and committed behavioral healthcare and human service specialists. This individual will play a crucial role in collaborating with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to coordinate training opportunities for foster parents, kinship and pre-adoptive families across the state.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and/or manage assigned staff, contractors and training network
Assist DCF with the Massachusetts Partnership in Parenting (MAPP) training series by obtaining/maintaining a Master Trainer Certification
Provide MAPP training to selected foster, kinship and pre-adoptive parents or staff co-trainers and maintain a list of foster parent co-trainers
Obtain/Maintain CPR/First Aid Certificate and Training Certificate. Coordinate CPR/First Aid Trainings for foster, kinship and pre-adoptive parents and teach training as needed
Participate in building statewide training calendar for foster, kinship and pre-adoptive parents with input from staff, DCF and foster parents and manage regional training needs
Plan and implement innovative program marketing and community education strategies
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field. Three years' experience in human services required. Experience with the Department of Children and Families foster care, kinship, and adoption services preferred. Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to listen, problem solving and facilitation skills. Experience in organizing and facilitating trainings.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work and for providing services in the community
Bilingual and bicultural preferred
