The Director, Financing and Device Services Analytics reports directly to the VP, Device &Supply Chain Analytics and Insights.
T-Mobile offers both Magenta and Sprint consumers a range of device services, such as handset protection (P360 & Sprint Complete), JUMP upgrades and Sprint early upgrade and Trade-in. Those financing and device services collectively contribute billions of dollars in company EBITDA and impacts almost every single TMUS customer. The device services under two brands may have similar purpose but have radically different construct and financial structure. Providing customers more value, better services, and a better experience, while consolidating those similar services into one, will not only improve the operations excellence but also optimized cost structure to the enterprise.
T-Mobile also offers consumers a range of financial services, handset installment financing, Leasing, 3rd party financing, virtual consignment and T-Mobile Money. Collectively those financial services created a financing portfolio equal to one of the largest banks in the country, in terms of financed amount and assets under leasing. We are always looking for ways to bring more innovative financial services and structure to facilitate growth, with solid credit policies and optimized working capital.
The role will lead a team of highly skilled senior data scientists and senior business analytics managers to find opportunities in customer migration's impact to the Un-carrier growth, expense optimization, operations excellence and value improvement; This Director will routinely brief senior leaders on insights of the services, strategic directions and actions recommended to go forward.
What you'll do in your role.
Lead the team to create and execute deep and comprehensive analytics, including data analytics, cash flow analysis, financial analysis and providing assumptions and mechanics inputs to strategic business case creation on Device Services.
Analyze and present findings for accounting impacts to EBITDA and oFCF, and sales lift and impacts on Financial services.
Provide input into strategic roadmap creation and evolution on financial and device services, such as 3rd party financing, outsourcing, vendor RFP.
Lead vendors to perform reconciliations on billing, revenues and costs for device services.
Provide insights for strategy and planning teams for their respective analytics and operations activities.
The experience you'll bring.
10+ years in an analytics leadership role, both in deep quantitative analytics and strategic analytics to support decision making and strategic roadmap creation.
10+ years in an executive leadership role with recognized success in building consensus and establishing alignment.
5-7 years of people management experience with a fortune 100 company.
Able to cleanly and logically frame sophisticated business problems to structure analytics that can answer those problems with satisfaction to the senior executive leaders.
Able to drive and adapt to complex and constantly evolving analytics solutions to complex business issues that may take months and sometimes up to a year to solve, while continuously establishing alignments with multiple stakeholders based on new findings and new objectives.
Strong mental agility to recognize business objective evolution and ever-changing value equations to lead the team to modify and sharpen the analytics to meet business needs.
Strong PowerPoint presentation skills to create clean, well-structured, aesthetically professional decks consumable for SLT, SVPs and VPs.
Strong team leadership and can inspire and empower team members to continue to improve, see the career development path and build a strong sense of mission.
Strong ability to conceptualize complex data structures for dual stacks of data flow and business models in order to guide the team to be comprehensive on their analytics.
Strong financial modeling skills to structure business solutions into NPV measures.
Strong work ethic and project management skills to aim to ETAs and ensure timely project delivery.
Strong executive presence.
Undergraduate and graduate degrees in quantitative fields from a tier 1 university such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics required.
A doctoral degree in those disciplines preferred; MBA strongly preferred.
