How You Will Make An Impact

ThredUp is seeking a dynamic Director of Finance ready to dive into the heart of our financial operations. In this role you will spearhead our Financial Planning processes and oversee the reporting of ThredUp's Profit and Loss statements for our U.S. operations. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting procedures across the consolidated business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have the opportunity to guide enhancements to our FP&A function working in close collaboration with our Executive team.

In This Role You'll Get To:

  • Lead the U.S. FP&A team, including development, hiring, performance management and task management

  • Manage comprehensive budgeting and planning process inclusive of driving forecasting cadence in accordance with our internal and external financial reporting calendars

  • Own and improve quarterly board package and offer executive insights on performance vs plan

  • Report and assess our performance vs. forecast for total Company; identify any risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data delivering impactful and actionable insights that drive decision making

  • Be the liaison for our European business to help inform the total company picture from a consolidated perspective

  • Develop, streamline, and maintain the total company consolidation model

  • Be the subject matter expert and provide guidance regarding all finance related decisions across all business partners

  • Support and proactively influence functional business partners to address opportunities through regular and ad-hoc projects as needed

  • Support and drive continuous improvement in processes for long term strategic planning, annual operating plan, quarterly board reviews, forecasting and monthly close

  • Support the global FP&A system implementation and processes definition & improvement

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of work experience in finance/FP&A

  • Experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, retail or other quantitative/data-driven industries would be a plus

  • Excellent and proactive communicator

  • Advanced modeling and analytical skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced, and high-growth environment

  • Strong process and systems improvement experience

  • Mastery of google sheets, excel and other office suite tools

  • Ability to connect the dots between strategies, think bigger and challenge the status quo

  • Proficiency in SQL a plus but not required

  • Proficiency using BI tools (Looker/Tableau) a plus but not required

  • BS/BA in finance, accounting, or other quantitative field

At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $179,000 and $278,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock. thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you'll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
