The Occasions Group is seeking a Director of Finance to lead all finance and accounting functions related to the sales/production for the operating company.

This position provides extensive financial analysis, leadership and recommendations to Senior Leadership in order to achieve our operational strategies and financial goals. The role is located in Mankato, MN and reports to the Direct Marketing Strategic Business Unit Finance Leader

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with functional leaders to prioritize, communicate, analyze and execute on annual business initiatives.

  • Responsible for financial management and oversight for sales and manufacturing facilities located in multiple states.

  • Active member of The Occasions Group leadership team involved in development of Sales and Marketing strategy (profitable growth opportunities).

  • Oversee the professional development and tactical execution against annual plans for the financial staff.

  • Plan and facilitate monthly operational review ensuring the reviews are balanced, data driven, and focused on continuous business improvement.

  • Be intentional about advancing and enhancing financial acumen among company leaders and staff.

  • Collaborate with operations to establish key metrics and ensure major assets of the organization are correctly valued and operating efficiently. This includes working to ensure inventory is properly valued, labor is being properly managed, expenditures have proper approval, etc.

  • Forecast expectations for Revenue, Gross Margin Performance and Expenses based on business trends and market conditions.

  • Partner with the operations teams to establish and build strategic pricing methodologies and cost studies. Establish Best Practices for Cost Accounting. Ensure proper internal controls and financial integrity for Cost of Goods Produced and Inventory.

  • Ensure annual budgeting is completed in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining budget ownership with the department and business leaders.

  • Monthly financial accounting is done timely and correctly. Institute and sustain proper accounting practices and controls. Ensure financial statements accurately reflect the financial position and performance of the organization. Support staff and leaders in developing understanding of accounting best practices.

  • Work with Taylor Corporation's Corporate Controller and VP Operations Finance to ensure compliance to corporate timelines and policies.

  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business; MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Progressive responsibility in operational accounting and finance leadership

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with operational/cost accounting in large manufacturing environment with proven progression of responsibilities in standard product costing, financial analysis, and internal controls maintenance.

  • Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams.

  • Possess a positive, consultative mindset that promotes improvements in operating effectiveness, efficiency and net income.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates professional presence, communicates articulately and confidently.

  • Change Agent. The ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and shifting priorities under tight timeframes.

  • Ability to get results; can proactively and autonomously drive initiatives and projects from start to finish.

  • Ability to prepare executive-level summaries, conclusions and recommendations based on detail data; can proactively and autonomously drive initiatives and projects from start to finish.

  • Highly curious; strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to resolution.

  • PC literate with a proficiency in excel and model building.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Direct Marketing companies.

  • Previously served as primary financial partner to functional or divisional leadership with full P/L responsibility.

  • Experience working with multiple ERP's and large databases.

  • Experience with implementation of new Financial and/or ERP systems.

The Director will lead the process of building and maintaining the Pictavo platform and entire ecosystem that supports customer requirements. Pictavo is our flagship solution for enabling schools to design, build and print class yearbooks. The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in managing complex technology driven transformation initiatives. The candidate must be comfortable working in a matrix organizational structure, driving a formal change management process, and providing concise executive level communication. This position is a role for a seasoned technology leader capable of juggling the high profile deliverables. A strong candidate will have a solid experience with technology/product program management, people management, functional team leadership, as well as superb skills in communications, business analysis, problem-solving, cross-team coordination, communications, processes, and change management. Responsibilities Include: * Leading teams of technology specialists to plan, build, service and support the platform * Working closely with the business, marketing and sales teams to understand customer requirements and translate them in to a Pictavo platform roadmap * Lead the analysis of value to cost for platform feature/function expansion * Lead the effort to expand the platform for capacity and performance * Create internal partnerships our internal security, compliance, hosting, and off shore services * Create external partnerships with our customers to optimize the user experience * Manage a $1 - $2 million budget for platform delivery * Manage product load and performance testing with assistance from other stakeholders * Ensure PDF accuracy from the UI all the way thru to manufacturing * Evaluate our competitor's technology to keep us current in the industry * Ensure compliance to industry privacy and data security regulations * Ensure quality and timely product releases with solid communication of change * Prepare and present operating plans to executive board * Communicate value and spend scenarios to executive leadership * Provide clear updates on progress towards goals to multiple levels of the organization including on and offshore teams Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field * Ten years of diverse experience in multiple areas of technology of which at least four years in a leadership position managing technical staff * Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and business for business operations; demonstrated ability to understand user needs for system and interfaces and come up with requirement documentation, as well as help create saleable POC experiences.
