The Director, Field Recruiting is responsible for creating a strategy for recruiting Operations personnel with a focus on management level candidates. This position develops various candidate sources, including high schools, colleges, affinity groups, and diversity organizations, to increase the pipeline of high-quality Operations candidates. The Director, Field Recruiting establishes external relationships and networks with new sources regularly to ensure Panda becomes an employer of choice. The Director manages a team of Field Recruiters focused on high volume recruitment, working with military bases, community organizations, campus career centers, student organizations, clubs, and faculty members to achieve recruiting goals and brand Panda's image in the external market. The Director is responsible for selecting, managing, coaching, and guiding the Field Recruitment team. The Director may travel to other locations to provide in-person recruitment support to Operations and/or to assist/train Field Recruiters.

  • Works closely with Field HR and Operations leadership team (ACOs, RDOs, VPO) to establish and achieve Panda's annual staffing goals. Creates the strategy for recruiting high-quality Operations personnel, with a focus on management level candidates.

  • Establishes external relationships and networks with new sources regularly to ensure Panda becomes an employer of choice. Plans and directs campus/military recruitment activities conducted by Field Recruiters, including campus lobby time, campus presentations, student club activities, on campus interviews, career fairs, and related activities.

  • Leads a team of Field Recruiters engaged in high volume recruitment of Operations management and non-management associates. Works with Field HR and Operations leaders on hiring, training, and retaining recruiting staff. Provides both in-person and remote training and coaching to Field Recruiters.

  • Directs the activities of Field Recruiters who proactively identify and recruit diverse candidates for Operations management and non-management positions to ensure meeting the established staffing goals in order to keep pace with company growth and meet its business objectives. Works with the Field Recruiters to build a strong candidate pipeline through internal and external relationships and a variety of sources.

  • Oversees applicant screening using the Taleo system and best-in-class recruiting processes and systems to determine candidates' technical competence, applicable background, and skills, and cultural fit.

  • Directs recruiting staff in pre-employment background and reference checks and testing. Oversees employment offers, managing the process for preparing and extending job offers conducted by the Field Recruiters.

  • Collaborates with Field HR and Operations leadership on recruiting efforts and results. Prepares and provides reports on recruitment outcomes. Conducts on-site meetings as required.


  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum ten years of increasing management responsibility for field recruiting in a retail restaurant/hospitality environment

  • Successful completion of annual store training

The Field HR Assistant position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Field HR team, including recruiting-related activities, general administrative tasks, and preparation of correspondence and memos as needed. Oversees administration of Operations referral bonus program and interfaces with various levels of Operations management to assist them with HR needs. * Provides support for the Field HR team, including posting jobs, conducting background checks and exit interviews, scheduling interviews, logging in associate relations claims, and handling supply orders and invoices to ensure smooth Field HR processes. * Oversees administration of Operations referral bonus program, reviewing requests, determining eligibility, gaining approval, and sending out the bonus check. * Interfaces with various levels of Operations management to assist them with HR needs, such as job posting, candidate sourcing, recruiting materials, and background checks and training for associates. Responds to basic questions from Operations. * Generates correspondence memos and presentations to support HR Field associates; drafts memos related to new and existing HR initiatives (e.g., My Voice Matters) for HR Field management to distribute to Operations associates. * Performs general administrative tasks such as copying, faxing, collating, and filing documents, ordering office supplies, processing invoices, and generating standard weekly/monthly HR reports. Maintains the Field HR contact list. * Supports Field HR on special projects such as implementation of the new referral program, My Voice Matters, and recruiting initiatives.
