This role is for a fiber termination process expert with a Quality background who champions all aspects of Fiber Termination Quality and process consistency in global CommScope, including Process Development and Qualifications, Fiber Handling Management, Standard Work, Procedure Guidance specifically Quality Control procedures, relevant PFMEAs implemented with high RPN items mitigated, review/approve fiber training programs, preventative maintenance processes are robust/controlled and customer complaints are analyzed properly, root causes fully understood with corrective actions implemented. Coordinate Fiber process audits and ensure that all non-conformances and improvement suggestions are corrected and implemented globally.
Works closely with ISPF and OSP business unit Engineering Quality teams to ensure NPI programs are designed and processes aligned to defined Fiber termination controls. Ensure that products for new Customers have viable TQW programs to ensure highest initial quality for customer delivery. Participates as key member with the Fiber process development team to ensure Quality processes are implemented and robust to ensure world class customer quality. Coordinate and report key Fiber Termination product, process, and service related metrics to ensure that defined performance levels are met or exceeded by all facilities in the region. Promote a visible and vibrant Fiber Termination Continuous Improvement program is utilized with the objective of improving customer satisfaction as well as improve internal operating efficiencies and effectiveness.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Global Fiber Quality Champion working with Global Fiber Process Development team supporting the development and implementation of Fiber Termination processes
Oversee the approval of Fiber Termination Quality objectives, policies, and programs to support the CCS Business Unit Fiber Quality Termination programs.
Monitor metrics and direct activities to assure continuous progress towards achieving defined Fiber process and handling objectives.
Ensure that the fiber termination requirements and needs of the customer are clearly understood and defined. Coordinate, working with Engineering and Operations Quality, the activities at all global locations so that these needs are uniformly satisfied and that the source of the products or services is transparent to the customer.
Direct the Fiber Termination Quality Programs and procedures to improve consistency, enhance efficiency and, as defined, drive cost reduction.
Develop close links with Regional FAEs and Global Fiber Process Engineering Leadership for effective communications and coordinated objectives.
Promote use of QITs or Quality Circles to engage employees throughout the organization (i.e., down to the operator level) to contribute to continuous improvement Fiber termination quality improvement programs.
Participate in, review and approve all customer complaints related to Fiber Termination including containment, root cause evaluation and defined corrective actions.
Coordinate Fiber process audits and ensure that all non-conformances and improvement suggestions are corrected and implemented globally.
Lead the review and approval of Fiber Termination procedures and quality process documentation to ensure relevance and consistency across global fiber operations.
Review and approve fiber training to ensure effectiveness of operator to produce high quality products for customers.
Outstanding knowledge of Fiber Termination processes and current industry best practices related to process, assembly, handling and testing.
Working knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools such as; TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Poke Yoke, etc.
Working knowledge of ISO/TL 9000 Quality Management System Standards.
5 years or more of previous Quality Management experience, preferably within a multi-plant manufacturing environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with all operational and functional areas and across international/cultural boundaries.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to recognize, challenge and drive change where required.
Ability to manage mid-level managers at multiple locations, including sites around the world involving differing cultures, languages, and customs.
