The Role: Director, Factor Education, Core Product Management

The Grade: 13 (internal use only)

The Team:

Our team produces thought leadership in support of S&P DJI's core product set, with special emphasis on factor indices. Our work is delivered through white papers, blog posts, presentations, and orally in conferences and client meetings.

The Impact:

Our success attracts competition - from other index providers as well as from traditional active investment managers. This role supports S&P DJI's market-leading position by articulating why indexing makes sense and how our core and factor indices can help achieve investors' objectives.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a full participant in the group's research and writing:

  • Strong analytic (Excel, FactSet) skills are essential

  • Candidate must understand investment processes, portfolio theory, and financial markets

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Desire to work in collaborative, team-centric environment

  • Ability to work with clients

  • Advanced degree in finance, CFA charter helpful but not essential

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. Pico is investing in Product Management and looking to build a world-class team, responsible for the product strategy and vision, roadmaps, product definition, and product revenue and margin contribution. This individual will have relevant experience in Product Management and will have the opportunity to take ownership of an important part of the product portfolio.</p><p>For this specific role, we are looking for a Director-level individual, who has experience in:</p><ul><li><p>Exchange Policies,</p></li><li><p>Colocation</p></li><li><p>Venue Connectivity,</p></li><li><p>Low-latency network technologies.</p></li></ul><p>Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to)</p><p>Market and Competitive Analysis</p><ul><li><p>Market: Understand the electronic trading market, be familiar with trends and developments and how they will impact Pico's customers and prospects</p></li><li><p>Competitors: Be up to date on competitors, and be a source of competitive intelligence within the organization, including providing competitor cheat sheets and briefs</p></li><li><p>Customers: Work closely with sales to understand current customer stance, satisfaction, requirements, and direction</p></li><li><p>Strategy: Work with Pico leadership to understand company strategy and ensure product strategy is aligned</p></li><li><p>Innovation: Understanding market trends, customers and competitors, identify opportunities for new products or product evolution to grow revenue and market share</p></li></ul><p>Product Road Map</p><ul><li><p>Create a clear road map for each product line partnering with Senior Management to define priorities and resourcing</p></li><li><p>Maintain a working list of new requests, ideas, innovations and features. Arbitrate with Senior Management for prioritization, and identify and resolve conflicts throughout the firm across sales and technology</p></li><li><p>Work with Management and Business Development to explore and vet new integrations with 3rd party partners</p></li></ul><p>New Product Definition and Introduction</p><ul><li><p>Ensure new products are clearly defined (PRDs, BRDs) with technical requirements, business case, pricing, revenue forecasts, competitive analysis etc.</p></li><li><p>Ensure new products are properly funded, planned, implemented, and validated. Work with Operations, Engineering, Legal and other teams to ensure that clear descriptions and consistent terminology is used throughout</p></li><li><p>Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure that new products are introduced to the market successfully. This will potentially include customer trials, press release, clear sales enablement material, price lists, web site etc.</p></li></ul><p>Product Metrics</p><ul><li><p>Partner with Finance and Sales Management to build an accurate ROI process for your products to be used in the decision-making process for certain new sales and growth opportunities</p></li><li><p>Work with Sales and Service Operations to standardize service levels with the current client base as well as future clients</p></li><li><p>Work with management to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for measuring product-based business results as well as overall engagements metrics related to each product area</p></li></ul><p>Education, Skills and background (incl. Education and Experience Requirements)</p><ul><li><p>An excellent communicator both written and verbal, including presentations, spreadsheets, and technical documents</p></li><li><p>A multi-tasker, interfacing with all other departments in Pico, and keeping multiple programs on track at the same time</p></li><li><p>Bachelors with 10 years of relevant experience including infrastructure and colocation product knowledge from a previous customer or vendor experience</p></li><li><p>Comfortable dealing with executives both internally and in some of our most important customers</p></li><li><p>Have experience leading people, both in line management and through indirect influence</p></li></ul><p>Working Arrangements</p><p>Post-Covid Pico is exploring more flexible working arrangements involving a combination of in-office and work-from-home days. It is expected that this person will be able to take advantage of this in agreement with their manager. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. Pico is a global organization with offices in America, Europe and Asia, and there will be some need to attend conference calls that are out of office hours.
