Choice Hotels is seeking a Director, Extended Stay Strategy and Operations to plan, direct, and execute strategic initiatives and operations to drive Extended Stay Brands performance, growth, and to increase Choice market share within Extended Stay lodging category. Our Director will lead long range planning for brand growth initiatives across the company's Enterprise Operations, Strategy, and Technology organizations. He/she will also lead analytics-based decision-making apparatus and systems implementation and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to increase cross-departmental alignment with corporate objectives. This role will also create and implement multi-year initiatives designed to grow all Extended Stay brands and lead programs that can help franchisees optimize unit level profitability.
What you will do
Brand Operations Planning, Reporting & Project Execution
Partner with Technology team in delivering ongoing Systems enhancements (e.g. CRS, PMS, Brand page, and other operational support platforms) to drive Extended Stay operational advantages for franchisees
Ensure Customer Care and Loyalty programs deliver tailored strategies that meet the evolving needs of longer-staying Extended Stay guests and operators
Lead project management efforts to formulate long range points of view on how dual-branding can benefit company's Extended Stay brands
Analytics-Based Decision-Making Apparatus
Deliver diagnostic and predictive insights to support long range planning and strategy development through market research
Represent Extended Stay in all budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning routines
Develop required materials (e.g. cost/benefit analysis, business case, financial model) of prospective initiatives originating from Extended Stay Brand Management & Franchise Performance department to ensure resources are aligned to overall division and brand strategy.
Brand Programs Support
Partner with Extended Stay Brand Management team to deliver on-time completion of approved initiatives within budget
Unit Level Profitability
Partner with CHOPS team to stand up an effective process to collect, analyze, and extract insights from property level P&L statements across Extended Stay brand portfolio to drive the early identification and proactive implementation of improvement strategies
Monitor and report on division, brand, and unit level performance and initiatives internally and externally (e.g. Monthly EO&T performance recaps, Steering Committee deliverables, Quarterly Earning Calls, Board documents)
Develop and track division and brand level key performance indicators in partnership with Business Intelligence Group
Skills you have
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years or experience
MBA degree strongly preferred.
Experience in project management and analysis. Must be able to demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Expected to interact frequently with senior management.
Experience creating qualitative and quantitative decision-making models
Excellent communication and presentation skillsboth written and oral.
Must be agile in transitioning from project to project in a dynamic workplace and be able to effectively multi-task and prioritize.
Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills required. Ability to interpret data sets from disparate sources.
Ability to query data and leverage various visualization platforms, including Tableau.
