Position Overview

Responsible for overall sales and operations management, revenue and profitability of assigned location(s) while ensuring the utmost in client and hotel partner satisfaction. Provide learning and development opportunities for employees. Functions as primary liaison with property to handle any issues and to manage the hotel contract.

Key Job Responsibilities

Financial and Labor Management

Manage an efficient and profitable Event Technology and Business Center (where applicable) operation. Focus on revenue maximization & cost control, in accordance with company standard operating procedures.

Sales Management

Manage and proactively execute the company sales process through advanced client contact. Improve and leverage the location and property's market position and share.

Account Management

Provide outstanding customer service to clients by establishing excellent working relationships with hotel/resort staff and executives, company team members, neighboring locations, and all vendors. Mentor technicians to also provide this level of customer service.

People Development

Maintain a positive employee relations environment for all Event Technology and Business Center (if applicable) team members. Manage performance, address employee concerns, maintain adequate staffing levels, and facilitate team development. Lead by example in portraying a polished, professional image according to the guidelines in the Employee Guide.

Information Management, Reporting and Company Support

Effectively utilize all company computer systems and software programs and ensure technicians are properly trained to use them. Complete standard and as-needed reports accurately and on-time. Actively participates in overall company programs/committees where applicable.

Equipment Security/Maintenance

Supervise security, inventory control, transportation and maintenance of equipment. Ensure all employees are properly trained in all areas.

Required Experience

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of AA/BS or equivalent experience.

  • Three or more years of audiovisual technical experience, including at least one year of previous supervisory experience.

  • Completion of P.A.S.S., HSIA and other training requirements.

  • Proficiency in the use of audiovisual equipment, HSIA equipment and company computer software and systems preferable.

  • Effective leadership abilities and customer satisfaction focus.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components, and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by PSAV based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-06T00:00 United States of America - Virginia, McLean Job Summary AECOM is seeking an Event Service Manager to plan, coordinate and supervise all special event set-ups, operational support of events and post-event equipment breakdowns. Areas of responsibility include supervising, planning, organizing, quality control and reviewing the work of Special Events Utility Cleaners and Audio/Visual staff. Successful performance of the work requires the use of considerable independence, initiative and discretion with established guidelines, policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Coordinates the activities of the Special Events staff to best utilize manpower, materials and A/V equipment. * Ensures that special event equipment, supplies and materials are delivered in a timely manner as to not interrupt daily business. * Ensures special event areas are clean and presentable prior to events. * Represents AECOM – FRAME Contract by participating in meetings, committees and/or task teams with Client (i.e., Facilities Support) and other government organizations (e.g., OPA, Protocol, etc.). * Manages personnel within Special Events Group including hiring, disciplinary actions, training and evaluation of staff performance. * Ensures staff compliance with all company, contract specific and Client administrative, safety and security policies and procedures. * Oversees the work of subcontractor services. * Confers with Services Branch Manager regarding needed support and corrective actions for any and all operational or personnel issues. * Respond to customer questions and complaints to ensure positive resolution. * Assembles and submits accurate and timely reports as required and needed. * Maintain high Security standards in department at all times. * Reports any building deficiencies to BOC. * Ensure all time and attendance records are kept up to date. * Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. * Inspect all equipment for proper operation and ensures all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) is properly accounted for. * Effectively maintain a professional and supportive relationship with all other departments on the FRAME contract. * Willing to work any hours to ensure success of project or event. * Perform related duties as assigned and required. * This position will report to the Services Branch Manager. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: 5 years in the Custodial, Special Events and/or A/V arena. 2-3 years supervising a staff of 20-30 employees. SECURITY: Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to plan, direct, motivate staff and execute work necessary for success while adapting to a demanding and changing environment. * Ability to work as a team player while working cohesively with all levels of Client, contract management and staff personnel to ensure contractual success. * Able to work independently, analyze situations, make decisions and set/meet deadlines with minimal supervision. * Must know or willing to learn basic budgetary and administrative principles and practices. * Must communicate in an effective and professional manner. * Able to defuse conflicts among subordinate employees and peers. * Must respond to emergencies during off-hours if necessary.
