About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a talented Director to join our rapidly expanding Pasadena office, which is a center of excellence for resource-based environmental consulting services with a growing environmental planning practice. The Director is responsible for providing leadership and management of a multidisciplinary Environmental Services program, with a particular focus on electric transmission utility clients. As part of Southern California Leadership Team, the successful candidate will provide the strategic direction, financial performance, business and client development, staff management, maintain high-quality scientific and technical quality to the Environmental Services program to ensure alignment with SWCA goals and objectives.

What you will accomplish

  • Directly provide and lead others in providing environmental services related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and other federal and state regulatory statutes, along with the environmental due diligence that utilities provide in parallel to these statutes.

  • Assisting with internal strategy in alignment with overall regional and corporate growth plans within the environmental services market.

  • Through business and client development, aggressively expand the client base and revenue in the areas of environmental planning and permitting, including broad-based environmental services projects and programs.

  • Be accountable for business development, the financial success of the program as a whole, and attainment of personal sales and productivity goals.

  • Manage large environmental consulting, compliance, and planning projects and programs, including multidisciplinary programs for major electric utilities.

  • Work collaboratively with the Principal, Cultural Resources and Natural Resources Directors and other regional office leads to grow the operations throughout Southern California.

  • Mentor and supervise staff within the Environmental Services Program.

  • Ensure professional and technical excellence and quality through project staffing and QA/QC assignments.

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and client satisfaction.

  • Enhance SWCA's professional reputation and demonstrate the ability to be creative and innovative with these tasks while representing SWCA in a professional manner.

  • Work closely with other key individuals throughout SWCA to promote our business interests in adherence with the company's mission, vision, and values.

Experience and qualifications for success

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Anthropology, or a field related to SWCA's services is required; Master's degree or higher is preferred.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in environmental consulting, including the management of large ($100,000 or more), multidisciplinary projects and programs.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in increasing levels of responsibility in management, including supervising and providing leadership for other professionals.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental planning and permitting in California, and demonstrated expertise in the federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to the management of natural or cultural resources and/or environmental planning in the state.

  • Demonstrated business development success and consulting acumen, including substantial established credibility with federal and state reviewing agencies and clients, as well as success in client development and proposal writing.

  • Substantial experience working with major utility clients, with direct management of Southern California Edison projects being preferred.

  • Team-orientated attitude with strong leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Job Description Position Summary The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) serves as an experienced subject matter leader and expert in staffing, clinical certifications, evidence-based practice, scope of practice, regulatory standards, clinical and payor guidelines, standards for certification and accreditation and operations. Leading effectively and resourcefully with operations management in a changing rehab and outpatient therapy regulatory environment. The DOR directs, plans and evaluates clinical practice, functional outcomes, fiscal responsibility, and change management in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. Other areas of responsibility may include Motion Analysis, Inpatient Rehabilitation Units, Subacute Units, Sports Medicine, Cleft Lip and Palate, Seating, Child Life, Recreation Therapy, and Orthotics and Prosthetics. The DOR works closely and productively with other Directors of Rehabilitation, as well as, SHC Headquarters leadership and staff in support of building and sustaining an SHC standardized system of therapy services and processes. In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED©™ Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families first). This position has a dotted line report to the Corporate Director of Rehabilitation, which will offer input into annual performance reviews. This position is administrative, but can provide limited direct patient care as needed. Protected leadership time is necessary for this position in this highly regulated field. Job Requirements Requirements Education: Master's Degree, DPT or tDPT required. Leadership: 5 years of previous leadership, and/or management experience in a therapy or rehab setting required. Demonstrated experience in revenue cycle, coding, reconciliation, documentation, billing and prior authorization of third party payors to include letters of medical necessity required. Medicaid experience required. Member of the APTA or AOTA required. Clinical Experience: PCS, OCS, NCS, or CHT preferred Pediatric experience preferred Special Qualifications Licensed in state of practice required. CPR/BLS certification required per local site policy. Previous pediatric experience in pediatric orthopedics, burns, and/or inpatient rehabilitation is preferred. This position is encouraged to obtain at least a green belt in SHC lean six sigma.
