Director, Enterprise Social Media Strategy

The Director, Enterprise Social Media Strategy is a newly-created, high-visibility role responsible for developing a truly transformational enterprise social media program.

Reporting to our Vice President, Omnichannel Marketing, the Director, Enterprise Social Media Strategy will rethink and grow our social team, presence, governance across channels, and community. This individual will be accountable for first hardening operations around social media Monitoring, Listening, and Employee Advocacy capabilities. From there, the individual will have the opportunity to build a team and develop a Social Media Center of Excellence with a set of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) tied to specific business goals and the Anthem Enterprise Content Marketing strategy. Ultimately, this role will play a critical role in aligning the entire organization around what excellence in social media looks like.

You would ideally be a social generalist who has built a world-class social presence for a brand in a relevant category. You will be ready to own social from planning to measurement and know how to build cross-functional relationships and alignment to make sure that social becomes part of everything we do.

Job Description:

  • Design, build and lead our organic social machine that can create thumb-stopping, best-in-class health content at scale.

  • Refine the social strategy and develop a playbook for social-first content that cuts through the noise and aligns with our brand.

  • Develop, recommend, and implement cohesive and innovative social media strategies at the enterprise level.

  • Be the "go-to" thought leader and expert in the integration of social with Brand, Communications, and Enterprise Thought Leadership content strategies.

  • Create synergies between social and other disciplines including helping develop a robust social customer care strategy.

  • Redefine and grow the internal employee Advocacy program.

  • Build an arsenal of tools, frameworks, governance, and guidelines to power social listening, editorial planning, community management, content creation, planned & reactive publishing, and measurement.

  • Collaborate with the enterprise Brand, Content Marketing, and Communications teams to create consensus around the strategic and creative vision.

  • Establish and foster stellar cross-functional working relationships.

  • Expand our social footprint by entering new platforms in a meaningful way for our followers and brand.

  • Unlock reach and conversion synergies by orchestrating paid and organic content across platforms.

  • Educate the organization about the role and impact of social on all aspects of business performance.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of marketing and/or digital marketing experience, with at least the last 3 years specific to social strategy & execution.

  • Must have experience in healthcare or a highly regulated environment such as federal or banking.

  • Leadership experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience presenting to C-Suite leaders is strongly preferred.

  • Effective cross-functional leader and consensus builder.

  • Excellent aptitude for developing and presenting big visions, meticulous plans, and actionable learnings.

  • Proficient in social media and emerging platforms with deep knowledge and experience of marketing health and wellness-related content and services.

Annual Salary Range*: $131,292 - $164,115

Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
