The Director of Enterprise Site Services (ESS) will be a critical member of the IT Services leadership team and play an important role in defining and implementing the IT strategy. The successful applicant will lead the digital workplace transformation initiative which aims to incorporate and leverage the following significant technology shifts to enhance user experience and productivity:
Cloud services - to aid business agility and scalability, improve user productivity, and to promote greater collaboration internally and with external customers and partners.
Mobility - to advance the ability to conduct business from anywhere and at any time in a secure manner using mobile devices and virtual desktops.
Information security to provide a secure digital workplace environment and mitigate security risk exposure for Matson's global business operations.
This position will provide leadership in the planning, design, and implementation of all site services for Matson's offices, terminals, warehouses, and vessels. Site services includes global end-user support (onsite & remote), support for all site hardware and software (PC's, thin clients, mobile devices, printers, and site servers), support of cloud-based productivity solutions (such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, and Zoom videoconferencing), asset management for all site hardware and software, security of all site equipment, and support for specific site equipment used in warehouses, terminals, and vessels.
The individual will align the site support operations of the company with industry benchmarks and best practices, and implement capabilities that materially improve end-user productivity across the company. The individual will establish and assure adherence to all project budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Achieving this expected level of performance will require the candidate to have advanced skills in planning and managing multiple simultaneous projects and collaborating successfully with peers and others in the company.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual should be a highly effective business and technology leader capable of developing and implementing global strategies that are in tandem with Matson's operating and strategic plans.
Specific job duties are:
Develop the annual business plan for ESS in alignment with Matson's business goals. Manage the integrated business plan deliverables, creating an environment of passion and accountability.
Implement ITIL based IT Service Management practices (in ServiceNow) to improve process maturity in daily operations and achieve world-class performance in site services.
Implement a global Help Desk service and proven automation technologies such as user self-service knowledge portal and chatbots to improve service levels to all users.
Utilize Microsoft SCCM and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow for asset management and configuration management of all site assets across the company.
Build a global high performing team where quality of work is consistently high and the team can handle routine activities along with the demands of delivering to expectations on critical projects. Drive the cultural transitions required to implement an innovation focused approach to ESS.
Meet annual SOX and PCI compliance requirements.
Publish and present relevant performance metrics to IT Services senior management.
Directly or indirectly assist other groups in IT Services to help them complete their specific tasks.
Proactively identify and resolve resource conflicts, set priorities for multiple simultaneous projects, identify technical and business risks and define appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
Develop and administer ESS capital and operating budgets and ensure flawless performance against these budgets.
Play an instrumental role in implementing company-wide information security projects as assigned by the Enterprise Information Security team.
Establish and implement a consistent security patch management program and process for all site assets. Maintain security patch management for all site assets within the established information security metrics.
Consistently follow all information security policies.
Implement and maintain the necessary controls to ensure the physical security of all computer assets in the company.
Assist with rapid incident response as directed by the Enterprise Information Security team.
Technology Skills Possess strong knowledge of the following:
Intel based PC and server hardware, operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2008/2012 Server), and systems software.
Storage systems and applications including RAID, NAS, SAN, tape backup hardware devices, Veritas backup software, and cloud based storage.
Network technologies and products including Cisco routers, Cisco switches, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, and 802.11x wireless communications.
Security tools including Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, McAfee products including EPolicy Orchestrator, and Malwarebytes.
Server and desktop virtualization using VMware products.
Mobile device management software such as AirWatch
Microsoft SCCM to manage Windows based computers
Microsoft Active Directory for authentication and authorization services
ITIL based service management software such as ServiceNow
Planning, Delivery, and Team Management Skills - Must have a strong ability to manage a large globally distributed team of technical managers and staff members who specialize in site support. Must be willing to travel to Matson sites as needed, and be able to work flexible hours when required to accomplish tasks during non-business hours.

Familiarity with ITIL and other best-in-class process frameworks, and a record of successfully implementing them to advance the maturity and quality of services provided.
Experience in site services outsourcing, complex contract negotiations, and vendor management.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; additional professional and management education is desirable.
Seven or more years of related work experience in a similar enterprise-level and global leadership position is required.
