The Director of Operations reports to the Vice President of Operations, and is responsible for motivating, developing, and leading a team of five exempt direct reports and 200 non-exempt indirect reports.
The Director ensures all Cardinal Health operational, financial and safety procedures are followed, enabling relevant key financial performance indicators are met and operational goals are achieved. This Director is also a key business partner for Specialty Solutions and is a member of the Specialty Operating Committee.
Building responsibility includes LV4 located in Lavergne, TN, which is a 330,000 square foot facility dedicated to Specialty Distribution and Metro Medical, serving both acute customers and physician offices with Specialty product ranging from Blood Plasma, to Oncolytic and Nephrology products and services. This facility has inventory valued at $1.5B, shipping over $50M a day through a mix of courier and commercial parcel carriers. The Director role is essential to maintaining clear and frequent communications with all levels within the organization as well as with customers. This Director also has oversight for SPD/Metro Med Reno operations and an EDRP site in Miami FL.
The Director provides strategic direction and leadership, ensuring execution of the distribution center's employee engagement and retention strategies and internal and external customer satisfaction. In addition, this leader will lead the distribution center's compliance with all appropriate state and federal agencies.
Provide leadership to managers, experienced professional staff and operational associates.
Promote a productive work environment with high employee engagement levels.
Create and execute strategies to control operating costs.
Develop and implement key performance indicators, policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals.
Assist in the development of functional strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Interact with internal and external leaders, including senior management.
Persuade others into agreement with sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships across the organization.
Partner with Environmental Health and Safety team to ensure high standards are in place for a safe working environment for all employees.
Monitor and ensure all regulatory procedures are properly administered and within appropriate tolerances.
Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives.
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or commiserate experience
7 -10 years of senior level experience in a distribution environment
5 years of management experience
Strong financial acumen, analytical, organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of Health and Safety laws and best practices
Experience working with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
Able to thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment; works well under pressure and results oriented.
