At BCBSMA, we have a unique opportunity for an experienced and talented digital product management Leader to lead and oversee the development and delivery of digital capabilities, including customer-facing products, using product management principles and an agile delivery framework. This leader will drive the Digital Product Management team's strategy, vision, and goals, including the latest market/trends/competitor products or customer needs. In this highly visible role, the Director of Digital Product Management will collaborate with business partners as 2-in-the-box to lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners, collaborating with key stakeholders and working closely with cross-functional teams.
This leader will be an expert in all facets of digital product management, with a deep understanding of CSAT, NPS, FCR, and other customer-facing digital products, including driving the most viable product (MVP), defining epics, features, user stories, attending scrums, scoring, and prioritizing the backlog, testing, working with designers and - user acceptance and testing of features and post-production operations management. drive Digital Products. Responsibilities:
Drive product idea conceptualization, vision, identification of business value, product design, product road mapping, planning, and delivery of digital products and solutions for all digital products, applications, and platforms
Responsible for digital product management processes, execution, and operation throughout the product life cycle
Research, recommend, and deploy new digital products and enabling technologies to maintain and sustain a technically current and secure product ecosystem
2-in-the-box for a value stream and partner with broader business stakeholders to drive digital product roadmap and delivery
Drive adoption, measure the effectiveness of the deployed digital products and solutions, incorporate results, and build the next generation of scalable products and solutions that drive Consumer Experience (including customer journeys, UX) and Digital Transformation
Collaborate and create alignment with both business stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver a powerful, differentiated, and cohesive digital product experience for our members
Serve as the owner and escalation point for the digital product management team to identify and execute approaches to resolve blockers and address issues promptly
Provide subject matter expertise and be a trusted advisor on digital product management strategy, trends, and best practices
Education and Experience:
Technical Product Management Experience:
Has a broad and deep understanding of the digital product lifecycle, capabilities, and direction of consumer-facing technologies (including mobile apps) and their impact
Redefine product life cycle management and cultural norms from the plan and execute (valuing predictability) to test and learn (valuing innovation)
Extensive experience defining and measuring product management objectives that span MVP, roadmap, quality, business value, time to deliver, adherence to agile principles, and cost-to-value ratio
Experience with ecommerce, payment subscription processes, and ordering platforms
Workforce Productivity Experience:
Experience in leading continuous improvement in people, processes, and technology to promote collaboration and drive agile maturity
Extensive experience in coaching and measuring the team on problem-solving skills, dealing with ambiguity/unknowns, connecting with the big picture (business value), demonstrating flexibility, and effectively communicating in a manner consistent with the audience
Identify the skill and delivery gaps of the existing team and layout options to skill-up and plug in the gaps
Utilize effective product management practices to ensure healthy product backlog, on-time, on-budget delivery of digital applications and platforms
Leadership and Partnership Experience:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
Experience in delegating while maintaining accountability
Extensive experience in leading transformation that requires reassessing product features and capabilities and adjusting strategic and tactical and/or operational direction
Experience in establishing effective partnerships across business and technology teams and influencing senior management, peers, and subordinates in an inclusive style to leverage their abilities and knowledge
