Position Overview

The Director of Digital & eCommerce, Americas leads teams, through both direct and indirect reporting lines, to achieve ecommerce and inside sales objectives within a specific region These objectives include billings, subscribers, renewal rates, traffic, and conversion rates. In addition, they are responsible for identifying local platform improvements and developing/executing local strategies and tactics that drive towards Autodesk's digital goals. This role reports into the VP of Digital & eCommerce for Autodesk and has dotted line responsibilities to the VP of Americas Territory Sales.


  • Actively lead a team to achieve digital and ecommerce goals for the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and the remainder of Latin America

  • Facilitate cross-functional planning & execution in the region, working closely with Regional Sales Organization, Inside Sales leadership, Digital Acquisition leadership, Retention, Client Services, Analytics, and Finance

  • Partner with Digital Acquisition and Marketing to understand the end-to-end experience. Influence optimization across the customer experience to deliver on the Billings and Seats goals

  • Work with Product Management, UX & Design, and Web Publishing to influence new features, functionality and web experiences

  • Create a vision of how the team and/or local efforts should expand to drive continued growth

  • Prioritize local needs based on effort and potential return to focus both regional resources as well as centralized teams in the areas that provide the most benefit to Autodesk and our customers

  • Regularly report on regional progress against targets providing local insight

  • Regularly forecast quarterly and annual achievement of plan targets. Help refine a forecasting process and cadence that gives appropriate insight to targets

  • Make data-driven decisions, to optimize performance. You'll work with your organization's analytics, testing and optimization teams as well as others across the company to acquire and understand the data and your customer profile

  • Develop and execute effective offers and promotions that align with overall strategy and drive incremental customer acquisition

  • Work closely with Client Services and Customer Support to ensure customers and prospects get the type and level of assistance that is right for them

  • Represent your region on VP Staff. Influence and collaborate on VP and C-Staff levels, regionally and globally

  • Provide direct sales & ecommerce expertise, thought leadership & vision

  • Coach and develop a great team of ecommerce and digital sales experts

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in B2B eCommerce and direct business. You have proven success driving to a billings or revenue plan number

  • Sales experience or sales support experience - close familiarity with how sales organizations work

  • Strong influencing & communication skills and a highly collaborative approach. Communication is critical in this role. You listen, seek to understand, facilitate difficult conversations, communicate your vision, and are courageous with differing points a view. You balance pressing your point of view with knowing when to disagree and commit

  • Data-driven decision-making skills. You have keen analytics skills, especially with Adobe Analytics and potentially Google Analytics. You understand and have experience with A/B and multivariate testing. You use data from multiple sources to drive meaningful decisions and actions

  • Understanding and ability to manage key metrics, from traffic and purchase conversion to page load times. You understand how each of these impacts your ability to meet goals and know how to influence them

  • Experience effectively leveraging promotions, offers and merchandising to drive incremental sales.

  • Facility with performance marketing. You have been close to, and potentially owned paid media, SEO, affiliate marketing, social media. You understand the dynamics and the importance of the business impact. You are very comfortable digging into data to understand current state and have an opinion on future state

  • A customer experience perspective. You are familiar with all of the components that make up a great web experience: Visual Design, UX, Content

  • Business and Finance acumen. You regularly report against sales targets and understand the local elements that contribute to the business (both quantitative and qualitative)

  • Familiarity with end-to-end lifecycle marketing

  • A reputation as a great team leader with experience managing remote employees. Your team members may be in multiple locations across the region

  • A "hands-on" management style. You are closely involved in the implementation, driving projects to execution. You have a strong sense of urgency and ownership to deliver commitments on time

  • International experience. You understand local markets, especially where the transaction requirements are concerned. You also recognize the need to streamline for operational efficiency

The Director of Software Engineering will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to design, develop, and implement new features across multiple initiatives.
